I make music for me and I put it on here cause someone said it was good and i should try a music platform I love all kinds of music so I make different types. I am my own genre. if it goes anywhere it does but honestly whatever happens happens. My music is all my life experiences put down and meshed together to make a song. Anybody that knows me dont take it personal I just write how I felt then, now, and I want people to relate.  Hope my music makes you cry, happy, and stirs up emotions you need to let out

And also i know my story is meant to be heard I didn’t make it thru so many near death experiences to not be a blessed one in gods plan , I was almost killed at birth after dodging an abortion that was meant to claim me and then I almost died multiple times in my teens and survived thru divine intervention and then I went to prison a place where my life was on the line almost daily and the I came home and over dosed tryn to chase the streets instead of the the music which I’ve loved since a child but instead I chose drugs over her and then I woke up on the third day after my overdose they induced me into a coma and I had a meeting with death where he told me I was way better then the mistakes I’ve been making how I just needed to stay down have patience because one day  im gonna make it, so I believe in deaths words more then anything I’ve never seen or spoken to you kno

🕹 As a teenager with nothing but a home computer and a keyboard, I dreamt of creating melodies that could resonate with the soul. Today, that dream takes flight with the Power of AI.

I'm a songwriter lyricist and singer. I'm sure you can tell I'm also a gay man. I write my music from my perspective - but I'm not a parody, my sounds aren't vulgar even if they walk the line of being provocative. I sing on all my tracks, I layer and produce my vocals and pitch shift on occassion to convey the message of a song. I do sing on several of my songs naturally. :-) but now I'm able to create the songs as I hear them in my head. My music tastes are eclectic. I truly love all music. My process is melodies to lyrics to songs ... then on paper (old school, lol!), all my songs are a part of who I am. With a lifelong love of the audio-visual world, I'm now stepping into the spotlight to share my songs, each a story pulled from my life. I invite you to listen, feel, and connect through my music. Gerhard Andreas Schreiber. Since the 1980s,  composing and producing music under the name octave plateau. What began in the shadowed clubs of the post-punk era and the neon-lit pulse of the Neue Deutsche Welle has grown into a lifelong journey through diverse soundscapes and emotions.

Back then, working with artists like Markus, capturing the spirit of a generation in transition – between analog grit and melodic futurism. But the musical path didn’t stop there.

Today, octave plateau bridges four distinct yet emotionally intertwined genres:

Smooth Jazz – music like warm light on late-night streets; gentle grooves, atmospheric chords, and melodies that breathe and linger. It’s the sound of reflection and release, crafted with subtlety and soul.

New Wave – shimmering synths, melancholic harmonies, and rhythm-driven storytelling. A style rooted in the 80s, but constantly reinterpreted to reflect the tension and beauty of the now.

Deutscher Schlager – emotional, melodic, and lyrical. I approach this genre with both respect and reinvention – drawing from its traditions while reshaping its form for contemporary ears.

Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) – raw, ironic, and rhythmic. NDW has always been the rebellious heart of octave plateau, combining German lyrics with electronic textures, punk aesthetics, and a dose of playful absurdity.

In 2024, these songs – some newly written, others rediscovered and reimagined – are being produced in the octave plateau studio in Berlin. Here, the past and the present meet in harmony and friction. Analog synthesizers hum alongside digital clarity. Stories unfold in every track – sometimes with a wink, sometimes with a sigh.

octave plateau is not just a musical alias. It’s a lifelong project, a personal archive, and a sonic playground. Welcome to a place where genres speak to one another – and where every note has a memory.
