The Believers Will See Their Lord In The Hereafter

[90] Ahl us-Sunnah believe and testify that the Believers will see their Lord, The Most Blessed and The Most High, on the Day of judgement with their eyes. They will look at Him, as it is reported in the authentic ahaadeeth from the Messenger of Allaah, (صلى الله عليه وسلم). He said:

“Indeed, you will see your Lord like you see the full Moon. ” [105]

The comparison ( like ) mentioned in this hadeeth is between the two (seeing’s) not between that which is seen in each case.[106] The ahaadeeth of the vision are related in the book al-Intisaar with all the asaaneed.

“When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, Allaah, the Most Mighty and the Most Majestic, will say: ‘Do you wish for anything extra that I may givey ou?’ They will say: Have you not brightened our faces? Have You not entered us into Paradise and saved us from the fire? So He will remove the screen and they will not have been given anything more beloved to them, than looking at their Lord, the Most Mighty and the Most Majestic.”

[106] i.e The similarity between seeing the full moon and seeing Allaah is in the seeing, not between the full moon and Allaah. This fine point is a refutation on those who claim that Ahl us Sunnah here have made a comparison between Allaah and His creation ( i.e. the full moon).

Imaam Barbahaaree rahimahullaah said:

.. So fear and be dutiful to Allah, O servant of Allah! And upon you is to affirm, to submit, to surrender to and to be pleased with what is contained in this book. Do not hide this book from any one from the people of the Qiblah. Perhaps, by means of it, Allah may bring a confused person back from his state of confusion, or  a person of innovation back from his  innovation, or one astray back from his misguidance so that he is saved through it.

So fear and be dutiful to Allah and adhere to the original old affair. And it is what I have described to you in this book. May Allah have mercy upon a servant, and may be mercy on his parents who reads this book, distributes it, acts upon it, calls to it and uses it as a proof for it is the religion of Allah [and  the religion of Allah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam).
