Tying Mendiants down to a genre hasn't been the easiest of tasks.
The 7 piece outfit started out with Soul music at the forefront of their agenda, but their debut 'Beggars EP' would surely suggest that the band have been experimenting well within the perimeters of Funk, Rock and Hip Hop. Be it an intentional move or not, at times being referred to as 'Aggravated Easy Listening' is proving to shake crowds left, right and center.

Zac's interest in DJing first began at the young age of 13, learning to mix records during class breaks in his friends garage. By the age of 14, he was hooked. Acquiring his own pair of 1210's, he refined his mixing skills using old italodisco and spanish makina records. In 2011, he took the next step and began a course in music production at Middesborough College. However, it wasn't until 2012 that his career really started to take off.

After spending three seasons in Ibiza and DJing numerous times for The Zoo Project, Sankeys & Eden, Zac found himself in high demand upon his return throughout the North-East of England. Since 2012 Zac has played for the likes of Motion (Digital, Newcastle), Middlesborough institution RiffRaff, Loop, Kasula and Idiosync in Manchester. In 2014, he began his residency for up-and-coming house and techno night Octave in Newcastle's Cosmic Ballroom where he went onto support Desolat's Martin Buttrich & Fuse London's Rossko, plus many more.

Having been a regular face at The Zoo Project for many years and playing alongside the likes of Monika Kruse, Dana Ruh, Tuccillo, Dense & Pika, Ralf Lawson, Terry Francis and more. Stanton’s sound and sets have taken on a slightly more garage twist to them where he has recently dropped his first release “Stop Tellin Me” on the highly rated,  Instinct (UK) aka Burnski’s garage imprint. With plaudits from crowds and DJ’s alike such as Burnski, Fabe, Kepler, Rossko & Seb Zito his soulful garage two step track “Stop Tellin Me” marks the beginning for this budding DJ/Producer.

Sam Wilde is a Leeds based Singer/songwriter.
His songwriting harks back to a style that was mastered by British bands in the 90s, showing the influence of his time growing up in Manchester, but is modernised by the rugged personality of his voice and strikingly delivered lyricism. The result is a sound that is finely poised between Britpop and Indie Rock with gentle hints of Blues root – all tied together with a dazzling pop sensibility. A clear instrumental proficiency gilds his tracks with unpredictability. But most of all, every note and every word is infused with an inimitable passion, his voice occupying a special space between a tender whisper and a savage roar.

Johnny Barr is a Paisley based singer/songwriter who is currently studying Popular Music at Leeds College of Music, specialising in songwriting. Frequently gigging with his own 6-piece band, Johnny’s unique combination of percussive guitar technique and intricate finger picking makes him an exciting act to watch, especially when this is paired with his effortlessly exhilarating stage presence.

2011 was a superb year for Johnny. He was featured on Radio 1’s BBC Scotland Introducing with DJ Ally Mcrae, and supported a number of upcoming acts such as The Staves, Admiral Fallow, Sucioperro, Aerials up, Alan Mckim and Lynnie Carson. 2011 also saw Johnny headline Glasgow’s King Tuts for the first time, where he also played last January as part of the venue’s New Year’s Revolution festival. Johnny aims to keep up momentum already generated this year through numerous well-received shows with the release of his debut album this summer. Watch this space!
