Dwayne Xavier Boekhoudt (born August 5, 1986), better known by his stage name Ablaze is a Dutch rapper from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Ablaze was born on the island of Aruba, Dutch Caribbean.
At the age of three his parents decided to immigrate to the Netherlands with his older brother and sister.
He first started rapping around the age of fourteen when he was inspired by a Bone Thugs N Harmony cassette that a friend gave him in class.
After listening to the cassette several times he began rapping along.
Ablaze then memorized several songs of internationally known artists such as
The Notorious B.I.G, 2 Pac and Nas, then rapped their verses on random instrumentals.
In 2004 Ablaze started recording songs with a friend and rapper Jefrem Pereira aka Khaniya.
They even came as far as performing with a back then upcoming R&B artist for his concert.
After the concert they did not continue making music and the buzz slowly died down.
When Ablaze turned eighteen he went back to Aruba.
While on the Island he met a producer called Uranis Boekhoudt aka El Maestro with whom he recorded his first single “Keep It Going”.
The single reached number 17 on the Aruba top 20.
In early 2006 he met a local rapper, Mad Mac.
They started hanging out and writing lyrics together.
Mad Mac was in a group called Black $unz; after talking to the fellow members they agreed to ask him to join the group, which he did.
After a few months Black $unz recorded a mixtape.
In 2009 Ablaze decided he wanted to move back to Holland in pursuit of an education.
When back in Holland he met a producer called Rogier Kleine aka Tenc with whom he recorded numerous songs for a mixtape but never released the material.
In 2011 Black $unz broke up and the members all went their separate ways.
After a year without making music Ablaze met with producer Deveney Elizabeth aka D Fly.
D Fly is the producer and owner of an upcoming record label called King Kong Music Group where Ablaze is now an Artist.
