This song showed its face during the late 20’s composed by Joseito Fernandez, from Cuba, dedicated to his girlfriend who lived in Guantanamo; (Guantanamera means woman from Guantanamo). During the 50’s the lyrics of this, by then, very popular song were changed with some of Jose Marti´s poetry. The song´s beat is not latin but Son Guajiro, unfortunately its internationalization made it sound more latin style. In this personal version we´re sticking to the Son Guajiro beat, with a slight rock touch.

Folks say that I´m a composer, but I think they´re wrong: I just download the music I hear and feel in the atmosphere and give it back to the people. I don´t do a living from music; I ´m an attorney and horse breeder who gets noisy when I download the music I hear and feel.Thanks for checking out my page and listening the noise I´ve been doing for the past 50 and so years when I get musical.
