Asier Arias -Bassy / Bassywax- es un dj apasionado de los platos y el formato vinilo. Tras un pasado musical académico, redescubre la electrónica mediante las fiestas techno a la par que termina la carrera. A pesar de haber tenido un contacto previo con diferentes subgéneros, es precisamente la manera de vivir la cultura techno en diferentes países extranjeros lo que le asombra y despierta su curiosidad por la figura del dj. Apenas un año más tarde, se hace con un par de tocadiscos y empieza con su proyecto como dj a vinilo.

A partir de entonces, comienza su colección de discos en la que, hoy por hoy, predominan vertientes modernas de un hipnótico e inmersivo techno junto con cortes tribales característicos de los años 2000 (groove, repetición y distorsión). Se siente cómodo en ritmos acelerados y sus pinchadas suelen rondar los 138bpm. Actualmente trabaja en la faceta como productor, experimentando y estudiando con el fin de desarrollar un sonido propio.

Amsterdam based rising star and multiple talent @vssrnl is a DJ, producer and co-founder of @antidoteamsterdam: a platform with a focus on promoting upcoming talent, a mix series and a very first edition the 6th of November.
During the gloomy lockdown days he spent his time crafting the sound he loves most: fast but groovy techno. This resulted in his first releases on different labels and his own bandcamp as well.
After his recent club debut in Köln late September VSSR has had a busy agenda playing at raves in Bret, Radion, ADEV and Berlin. The future is looking bright for him, with more confirmed releases and bookings!

2021 has been an interesting year in the world of Techno as we came out of Lockdown it was quickly back to business.

Things have defiantly got a lot faster, in some cases you can question if it is even Techno anymore. Regardless, the scene seems to be thriving which is great to see. 

This month podcast number 10 I am very happy to bring you someone who has always kept it real, Voicedrone. He needs little introduction, a true legend on the scene, co founder of London’s now notorious and well established club FOLD and also an artist here on ETG. 

As a club owner Voicedrone is a rarity his relentless passion and drive to create something special with FOLD has brought together untold groups and communities from across the UK and beyond. 

First and foremost music always comes first! 

As a producer and Dj he is very capable in both counts. His sets are explosive, dark and move very tightly between styles of Electronica and Techno. Production wise his equal obsession with the sound you hear with FOLD's bespoke Sound System is also demonstrated in the studio.

Coming up in the not too distant future expect to see him up on FOLD Records as well as back on EarToGround alongside myself with remix action from Works Unit AKA Cleric and Reflec

So for this Christmas end of year special here is a brutal LIVE recoding of Voicedrone from the recent Telehaus party at FOLD.

This mix has been made with a “collage” type of work in mind, using small bits from a lot of different tracks to make an entirely new one. This is already something I have been experimenting with when I DJ but I wanted to take things a bit further with a more precise and surgical approach which a studio mix allows for. To achieve that, I've reworked and edited 99% of the songs I used, it took ages but was a very interesting and rewarding process that basically enabled me to make whole new edits of my all time favorite tracks.

://about blank is a multi-room club by Ostrkeuz S-Bahnhof in Friedrichshain. It's a short walk from Salon Zur Wilde Renate, and like that club, it's a lightly renovated re-purposed building with seemingly endless nooks and crannies. There are two main dance floors inside, one tent outside and in the summer DJs play out in the garden (this is open in the winter too, often with a bonfire going). 

The music policy is open-ended but mostly focused on house and techno, with occasional bass or disco nights. The overall atmosphere is gritty, and the parties often go well into the following afternoon or evening.
