Located and originating from Dorset, the South-West region of England (UK), three DJs merged together to form the Drum & Bass trio that is “Above The Works”. 

Debuting in early 2017, “Above The Works” first appeared on the multi award-winning online radio station “Rough Tempo”, as resident DJs doing a bi-weekly show. The newcomer group has since performed live DJ sets under their new alias, at a variety of events, including the Drum & Bass Weekender in Prague, Czech Republic (CZ). While out in Prague they supported artists at the “Cross Club” on the main stage, the artists featured were; Brockie, Jayline, Kenny Ken, North Base and R3dx; among a huge variety of other artists performing over the bank holiday weekend. Since then, “Above The Works” has continued to support a multitude of other artists, including; Pendulum, Sigma, Wilkinson, Delta Heavy, DJ Hype, Fabio & Grooverider, Nu Elementz and Version. 

Between it’s three members; “Above The Works” has also supported other artists, including; Audio, Turno, Majistrate, Annix, Rido, Nicky Blackmarket, Tyke, Macky Gee and Simula, to name a few. 

The groups individual influences all stem from a diverse variety of sounds erupting from the 2008 era; Clipz, G-Dub, Noisia, DJ Hazard, Crystal Clear, Zen, DJ Hype, Cabbie, Bad Company, Andy C, Friction, Calyx & TeeBee, Goldie, DJ Krust, Drumsound Basslinesmith & The Prodigy. More Modern influences come from; A.M.C, Mefjus, Logan D, Emperor, Dominator, Upgrade, Serum & Voltage, Break, Sub Zero, L 33, State Of Mind and Blackley. 

“Above The Works” has used these examples, old and new, to help them shape and develop their musical identity within Drum & Bass. By collaborating together, the objective aim of the trio has always been to try to cover the diversity of the genre as a whole.
