Anjunabeats star Oliver Smith is back with 'Snowfall'.

Premiered at Above & Beyond's Group Therapy 450 celebrations in London last year, 'Snowfall' is a rapturous instrumental club cut from one of the label's best-loved names. Road-tested at the Anjunabeats Miami Music Week pool party, 'Snowfall' will no doubt be heard on Oli's upcoming US club tour. Our man will perform for sold out crowds in Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, Miami, Denver, Toronto and Montréal. 

Our European friends can catch Oli at Anjunabeats Amsterdam at Paradiso in May 2022 or at Above & Beyond's supersized Group Therapy Weekender London festival, set to take place at a brand new open air venue in the heart of East London this September.

Oli's recent outings 'Borderline' and 'Warehouse' have both amassed millions of streams,  with the latter becoming this humble hitmakers best performing track on streaming to date.

It can be a bit nervy debuting completely new material that no-one has ever heard at such a big gig - broadcast the world over - especially when it comes with some curveball moments such as the drop on this one. "Parallels began as I explored synths, sounds, textures, and melodic motifs from my early days (even childhood) in dance music. I broke out all my old synths both analog and virtual analog, and dove back into classic sound design, wondering why I had put them down in the first place. This reconnection with my past taught me quite a few things, but most importantly: I learned to take things a bit less seriously, and not give a fuck.

I’ve always found it challenging to merge my two passions in electronic music: the dance floor, and the more heady home listening environment. That’s why I specifically decided to challenge myself further and include both sonic landscapes in one track: Parallels. It starts as a 100BPM idm-infused half time hard techno (in my eyes) track, that gradually builds to an electro-slammed full on classic trance revival moment. This is the first time I’ve fused both sonic passions of mine into one whole piece, and I’m very sure this will not be the last!

The EP sweeps across my musical mood board of everything from hyper emotive string sections augmented by modular synth patterns, to more whimsical tuned percussive ear worms. The most exciting part for me was the self discovery of understanding that these two wildly different sides of my musical curiosity can exist in parallel with each other, harmoniously and non conflicted. I proudly present Parallels in its entirety today, and look forward to exploring this concept even further."

‘Good For Me’ was first released on Above & Beyond’s debut album ‘Tri-State’, which celebrates its fifteenth anniversary in March 2021. Featuring the ethereal voice of long-time collaborator Zoë Johnston, it is one of Above & Beyond’s best-loved anthems. 

Whether he’s ARTY or ALPHA 9, Artem is one of Anjuna’s brightest stars.
