At the forefront of progressive and trance for almost a decade, Ilan creates high energy trance with heart and soul. His debut artist album, 2018’s ’Scars’, emphatically showcased the Bluestone sound. Broadening his repertoire with elements of dubstep, chillout and funk, ‘Scars’ cemented Ilan’s place as a headline Anjunabeats artist, with DJ support from Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Oliver Heldens. Giuseppe de Luca returns to the fold with five vocal contributions on ‘Impulse’. Above & Beyond release their new instrumental club record ‘Projection’, the lead single off the 16th edition of the famed Anjunabeats 'Volume' series.

The final unreleased ID from the trio's headlining set at last year's Group Therapy 450 event in London, 'Projection' has been tweaked and tightened on the road over the last few months.

"For this record the intention was to fuse early 2000s Anjunabeats uplifting trance vibes with a chunky electro house groove," says Jono Grant from Above & Beyond. "The contrast of the heavier groove with the uplifting breakdown is working well in our recent sets".

Featuring 33 tracks over two discs, Anjunabeats Volume 16 includes exclusive music from 40+ artists, both fresh and familiar to Anjunabeats fans. Sketched on the road and in Jono, Tony and Paavo's London studio over the past year, this new mixed compilation showcases the direction of Anjunabeats over the next 18 months.

Bearing the prestigious ‘tronce’ seal (that's British for ‘trance’) ‘Mama Africa’ delivers an ilan Bluestone-sized hit of driving rhythmic bass, cascading layers of synth and the return of collaborator EL Waves (Elizabeth Osei) for another stunning vocal performance.

Elizabeth explains how the track draws heavily from her cultural roots, “This is a song of love and blessing for my mother, father and loved ones. In Akan culture we recognise the sacrifices that each individual makes when raising children of the next generation, passing down wisdom from old to new. Sending out blessings is something we do to show love and appreciation and to say thank you.”

ilan Bluestone ‘Mama Africa’ featuring EL Waves is set for release on Anjunabeats on the 19th of February with the full EP arriving this spring.

One of two collaborations from Andrew Bayer on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 15 album (the second being ‘The Test’ with Genix), ‘The Launch’ is not the first time Bayer and Cosmic Gate have crossed paths.
