The String Quartet No.1 "The Call" evokes the captivating painting of Remedios Varo, "La Llamada". The composition echoes the profound sense of lethargy portrayed in the artwork, yet also reflects the protagonist's awakening as she connects with the universe.
At its core, "The Call" embodies the spiritual concept of being summoned to unite with the divine and merge with the energy of the cosmos. It is a poignant reminder that when our life cycle concludes, we too are beckoned to return to the very source of all existence.
This movement is dedicated to my beloved friend Erika Dobosiewicz, who has become one with the cosmos.

Obsessive Reflections no.1 is a piece for bassoon solo and foot with or without a bass drum with pedal.

This piece is an allegory of the musician's process of becoming obsessed while reflecting on how to interpret music. Thus, the use of the foot to mark a beat, the repetition of patterns and even the "freedom" to improvise or execute long musical lines are all part of the process of Obsessive Reflections.
