Midnight Dawn

My composition Water Song is an awareness building song about the dangers of fracking, flooding, climate change and all of those things that are threatening our beautiful planet. It's written in the hope that we can change in time. 
I'll be performing Water Song on Simon Lederman's live radio session on BBC London 94.9FM on March 27th 10pm. You can listen online too so please tune in.

Annie's self-titled debut EP, which was released last year, picked up support from the likes of Radio 1's Huw Stephens, 6 Music, XFM, Drowned in Sound, This Is Fake DIY and The 405 to name a few, with the lead track "Elvis" being featured by Burberry Acoustic.

Annie's unusual grasp of language and awkward perspective bleeds into her lyrics and fuels a style of music that is both enchanting and haunting.

Billy Preston has always been an important figure in music for me, and I asked the very fine vocalist Martin Jones to join me with his soulful singing on this 70s classic.  Billy was always one of the funkiest keyboard players out there, and was often called the 5th Beatle.   Because of Billy's superb piano, synth and organ skills, he was a top session player and toured with many musicians including Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Little Richard and Sam Cooke.  Here's our tribute to the late great Billy Preston, who wrote hits such as Space Race, Will it Go Round in Circles, Outa Space, That's the Way God Planned it and co-wrote You are So Beautiful, which Joe Cocker then made famous. Sometimes I Like To Kill Things Too

I once began to write a Song with a very sweet Old-timer. But the way life went, we didn't get to finish it and Paul Mahony moved on, into his next world, where his wife was waiting for him. At his celebration of life in the Pit, his daughter read a poem, Paul had written, shortly before he died. I asked her, after telling her the story about the Song -writing, if I could use the poem as lyrics for a song. She gave me a copy of the poem and I wrote the music to it. Many years later now, I got it together. It never sounded right, until David L Mcdonald came on board and played his soulful guitar Sounds into it... and mixed and changed and rerecorded....and here it is...finally....Paul's way from one world to the other.....in his own words...
