DJ and producer, Absa / Axel Masurel has been immersed in electronic music since birth.
He quickly developed a passion for DJing and music production. Son of DJ Miloch (a prominent figure in the French techno and house scene of the 90s with his label Tekmics and his duo Lake Soul) and nephew of @ravage-sentimental , he naturally grew up in a world shaped by beats and synthesizers.

At 18, he performed his first DJ set in front of an audience with the support of Cllctve (event organizers in the Annecy region). Around the same time, he launched a residency on Radio Ellebore with the show Promenade Moderne, broadcast weekly from 2015 for several years. True to his eclectic taste, the show explored a wide spectrum of sounds: from techno and house to hip-hop, future beat, and more experimental music.

Over the years, he has shared the stage with artists such as Para One, Florian Meindl, Un*Deux, Agoria, UJO, Bambounou, LOUISE, Ramon Tapia, and many more, as well as collectives like Laissez-Nous Ræver (Annecy), Résolution (Jura), and The Black Møøn (Annecy). He also co-founded the association Modern Walk, through which he organized events and launched a podcast under the same name.

His first single “Anthem” was released in 2022 on the label 1DG. He continues to share his diverse productions on SoundCloud, while performing regularly at events connected to Bieronomy (of which he is part of the team), including the Lyon Bière Festival. Today, he is an active member of the Annecy-based collective The Black Møøn.

À la fois française et suédoise, Ravage Sentimental a grandi dans le milieu rave des années 90 en France, entourée de DJs encore célèbres aujourd'hui. La trentaine en poche, elle décide de passer derrière les platines.

Multipliant les collaborations et les alias, c’est en 2018 qu’elle lance son projet solo sous le nom de Ravage Sentimental. 
Un an plus tôt, en 2017, elle prend un virage essentiel vers la production musicale, muée par la nécessité de s’exprimer intimement à travers le son.
Cette approche introspective et instinctive façonne sa musique comme une forme d’écriture automatique, un exutoire aux angoisses contemporaines et à une énergie latente qui cherche à s’exprimer.
Début 2018, plusieurs EP ont vu le jour chez Paradise Children Records. Un EP est en cours chez Belly Dance Services, le label viennois orchestré par Nick Hanzo.

Les sons que Ravage Sentimental propose sont souvent mélodiques, emprunts de new wave, de sons hypnotiques, et d’une pointe de dark disco ; ritournelles électroniques brûlées à la neige carbonique. Sa voix, cristalline et éthérée, se pose délicatement sur ses compositions. Elle a été remixée par Kasper Björke, Justine, C.A.R., Niv Ast, etc. 
Depuis 2020, elle est un pilier du projet Eftersom (eftersom.ctcin.bio), où elle prête sa voix et ses textes à des compositions électro-pop signées Jérôme Darmois. Plusieurs sorties, dont l’album Lie, ont vu le jour ces dernières années.

Aujourd’hui, tout en menant une carrière dans les arts graphiques et l’éducation, Ravage Sentimental plonge dans l’univers de la production musicale et de la scène électronique dès que l’occasion se présente.

Both French and Swedish, Ravage Sentimental grew up immersed in the 90s rave scene in France, surrounded by DJs who are still famous today. At 30 years old, she decided to step behind the decks.

She has had various collaborations and aliases, but it was in 2018 that her solo venture, Ravage Sentimental, took its first steps.

In 2017, she made a pivotal shift towards music production. This move was fueled by a deep desire to express her emotions, a drive that has remained unyielding ever since. Her music is a form of automatic writing that serves to alleviate the burdens of modern-day anxieties and, at times, the surplus of pent-up energy craving release and connection. In early 2018, her first EP was released by Paradise Children Records.

The sounds Ravage Sentimental creates are often melodic, with a hint of new wave, hypnotic undertones, and a touch of dark disco allure, melodic electro burned by dry ice.

Since 2020, she has been an integral part of the Eftersom project (eftersom.ctcin.bio). In this collaboration, she contributes her voice and lyrics, while the electro-pop compositions are crafted by Jérôme Darmois. 

Today, deeply involved in graphic arts and education, she strives to immerse herself in the electronic music scene and music production whenever possible.
