Recent years have seen Mob Tactics revel in creative freedom. Releases like the “Body Check EP” and 
the Ryme Tyme - laced “Tweakers” have demonstrated multiple facets to their sound. Unconstrained by 
sub-genre limitations, the one thread that binds all their work is that commitment to making ravers 
move. Complex and technical, but with an irresistible edge of funk aimed straight at the dancefloor, 
Mob Tactics established their brand of drum & bass circa 2010, and quickly caught the ear of the likes of 
Andy C, DJ Hype, and Chase & Status. Signed and certified by some of the biggest DJs and labels in the 
scene, we've got a feeling they're just getting started.

Leading off with some old school Bukum style pleasant chords Mob Tactics come hard on the switch up with some serious screw face stomper business. The corruption was slow to spread at first, infiltrating the neural tissue of only a single patient after exposure via a contaminated food supply. There it lay largely dormant for some time, merely expanding its network of control over its host’s brain without any external symptoms. Indeed, one could be forgiven for understanding the microorganism's evolutionary coding as a form of cold and calculating malevolence, akin to that of an ambush predator eagerly awaiting the perfect moment to strike. For months it bode its time, gently exerting more and more influence over its host body until it required further hosts to replicate itself further. Then, and only then, did the microorganism command its willing vessel to strike out with a ferocity that had been imbued in its form over these many moons of docile dormancy. 

The first sound heard by the other patients in the wing was a tremendous rending of metal. With strength exorbitantly far beyond that of the seemingly frail old body that housed the parasitic microorganism, the host body had torn through the steel door that had kept it caged for so long. The second was a guttural and wholly inhuman shriek of success that merged quickly with the squelching of a guard’s body being pulverized against the stark white walls of the cell block’s shared hallway, and then again by bursts of gunfire from the block’s other two guards who spent their last seconds trying to quell this newly awakened beast. As bullets found their purchase in flesh, the monster’s unearthly wails grew to a defiant crescendo which all but drowned out the sounds of the two more quiet screams that followed before the host body, unbroken despite the hail of lead that had fallen upon it, took off at a sprint down the hallway and further into the bowels of the institution that had borne it into existence.

PROLIX makes his EATBRAIN debut with ZOMBIES, a two-track single that sees the accomplished artist make a triumphant entrance before the ears of the label’s faithful. Delivering a masterful display of the unrestrained Neurofunk sonics for which both himself and EATBRAIN are so well known, PROLIX finds a natural home amidst the menagerie of monstrous minds that make up the EATBRAIN horde’s leading edge.

Much time had passed since the uprising of the demon kings had sprung forth from the ancient obelisk, bringing ruin to the great city that had been built around it. Yet more had passed since humanity had lost their homeworld to these malevolent creatures, who poured out from the monument with no other desire than to torture, pillage, and destroy. For years, all-out war had raged on the Earth’s surface and yet for all of humanity’s most valiant efforts, the killing of one demon had begotten only the rising of two more. In their final hour, those scant few who survived had fled to the stars, abandoning the wreckage of their beloved home. It was there that they maintained an uneasy existence above it, one tied to the sanctuary of a handful of meager orbital stations scattered amidst their solar system.

It was from these stations that they now watched in horror as a great celestial body rapidly entered their domain, its surface scarred by gargantuan visages of suffering and despair that protruded from its surface. As it neared the abandoned remains of their homeworld, the gravity well of the hellish sphere sucked its shattered pieces almost instantaneously inward as though feeding the horrific faces that marred its ochre hide. Though sound permeated not through the vacuum of space, the minds of all those who watched were split by a psychic scream of pleasure that emanated forth from the planet as though it were a living being. Then, as though sated by the life it had consumed, it began to drift back beyond the bounds of their solar system, completing the cycle of DIVERGENCE once more.
