Mettacrit was happy for their cousin, who had quite recently gotten their own, fully functioning body. Alas, they still yearned for stardom in the underground, and no one would give them the time of day without a body. 

Before the fight, you'd overhear Mettacrit on a phone call. Their cousin informed them that the royal scientist, Undyne, would be willing to make them a body. 

Excitement would shift to confusion when they were told the caveat.

A human would need to be brought to them first.

Conveniently, as they turn around, a human was right there! Oh, but they looked just so adorable! They couldn't possibly bring them by force...maybe some not-so-subtle charm would do the trick?

Glitz and Glamour

I so, so, SO wish we would've had some drawn concepts for this area, but we don't. Snowdin was going to adapt more of "christmas night" type of aesthetic. A dark blue-ish overlay over all of the sprites, with bright lights strung up on trees to light the path to the village. I always imagined it as very pretty in my head, despite the low resolution and style of the game.

It's only fitting that the track for this area was also beyond gorgeous. This one is a contender for my favorite song in the soundtrack. I still listen to it regularly in my free time.
