ASEC is back on his self-titled imprint with five mesmerising techno cuts featuring remixes from PoleGroup’s Kwartz and Soma’s Temudo.
ASEC is a Berlin-based artist and label project centred around raw, yet hypnotic dancefloor-oriented electronic music. To Berlin via Manchester, ASEC’s productions focus on tension and release with tracks that build momentum and intensity. As a Producer, Live Act and DJ, ASEC delivers his driving and expansive electronic music vision, consisting of dark textures, idiosyncratic melodies and dynamic drum sounds. With releases exclusively on his label, ASEC’s tracks have acquired support from household names like Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Henning Baer and SNTS resulting in a live show debut at Tresor in 2020.
‘Small Collisions’ kicks off with elastic synths shimmering off the resounding kicks and crunchy modulations before ‘High Tool’ maneuverers between hypnotic atmospheres and dark, ominous textures balanced with ghostly pads and thudding percussion with emphatic frequencies. Up next, Looping transcendental rhythms, gloopy fx and entrancing leads peppered with undulating minimalism takes focus in the ‘F Brexit’.
Madrid-based artist and PoleGroup, Mord, Semantica and Warm Up affiliate Kwartz delivers a pounding remix of ‘Small Collisions’ as the carnivorous percussion bounces with the raw oscillations, fizzing, industrial components and dramatic machine sonics. Temudo is part of a new generation of techno artists with releases on Soma, Modularz, Clergy, Synewave and more, rounds off in exquisite style with a swinging interpretation of ‘High Tool’ fusing ripping rhythms, frazzled soundscapes and penetrating textures.

ASEC ‘ASEC004’ is out on ASEC on 2nd April 2021 (Vinyl) and 14th May 2021 (Digital).

We return with another split EP for this reference, presenting and welcoming the artists FU-5 and Vince from Argentina and Portugal respectively. Opening things on side A we have "Compress C3" and "Compress C4" two analog monsters where the Argentinian artist shows his wildest side. Building a fluid narrative through strong kick drums, syncopated synth sequences and uneasy hi hats he shapes these powerful tools. "Swig" and "Fey" are the cuts that make up the B side of the release. Showing personality and a distinctive sound, the young Portuguese artist subtly merges the Techno style of the early 2000s with the current tendencies, resulting in two very useful and effective tracks for any situation of the night.

PØLI and Lorenzo Raganzini's HEX Recordings returns with its first Various Artists release, entitled ‘Deviant Misbehaviours Vol. 1’. Since its inception in March 2019, the imprint has been synonym with the most extreme spheres of the Techno scene, presenting a recurrent post-apocalyptic sound through the genre's diverse sonic fields.
For its fourth release, the Barcelona based label welcomes 11 artists from 6 different countries for a 10 track compilation with some of the label’s mainstays, new players and old school legends.

A+W regular Codex Empire opens with squelchy bass and an EBM drive on ‘Primary Function’, while crunchy snares, distorted Moog leads and delayed hats take over in Samot’s ‘Night Shift’. Joton delivers a percussive, fantastic groove with a screeching lead synth in ‘Empty Town’.

Then, label backbone VII Circle thunders with sinister hardcore synths in the uncanny ‘Relentless Fight’, Georgian newcomer Downwell presents ‘Out From Your Pain’, a harsh and EBM/Industrial piece, to leave the French uprising talent Julian Muller take things into the bright side with the trancey synth line and fresh melody of 'Stigmat'.

Founders PØLI and Lorenzo Raganzini return to represent the imprint after two releases, to deliver the punishing ‘Human Nature’, with relentless kicks, haunting voices and spacey stabs, while Surit brings in 909-like percussions and destroyer leads on ‘Broken Flags’.

‘Thief Of Joy’ from the Greek artist Jerm rounds things up with thumping old school bass, to leave the newcomer Dahlia close proceedings with the emotional, EBM infused ‘Lost In Everett’s Realities’.

Expect high-octane, merciless tones on this hard pounding and raving Techno compilation.

The second part of 2020’s ‘Converge - Part I’, a body of music which saw enthusiastic responses from the likes of Surgeon, Lauren Flax, DJ Bone, Anthony Parasole and Jus-Ed to name just a few, sees the Berlin-based DJ/Producer and dancer generously expand on and refine his slick vision of techno on one of electronic music’s key labels.

By encompassing warm and soulful textures within club focussed grooves, Hester continues to explore the far reaches of both the musical cues picked up from his years as a dancer and formative time spent in the Midwest US, connecting influences from Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit.

Stretched across a double LP, the album opens with the spacious and icy ‘Stealth’ followed by the machine communications of ‘Artificial Intelligence’. The B-side sees a whirlwind of the synthetic in ‘Instant’ before ‘Contact’ swiftly picks up the pace with it’s warbling pads and slippery percussion.

On the second disc, ‘Circadian Slip’, custom-built for dancefloor pandemonium, continues with off-kilter leads and vocal snippets before ‘Shadows’ brings eerie syncopation to the proceedings. In the final stretch, ‘Silver’ maintains steady energy into the twilight hours, and the gorgeous ‘Wonder’ closes out the LP beautifully, providing a soft landing to an exceptional journey through Hester’s sound.
