Johnny is an upcoming Techno artist who comes from a great lineage of Cuban musicians.

At the age of six, he started his training as a percussionist at the Cuban Music Academy. After graduating, he was part of various Rock, Jazz and other alternative genres bands. Soon the electronic sounds would catch his attention and this is when he begins to lean towards Techno.

Johnny comes from strong musical roots, from the seed of one of the greatest musicians in history, Juan Formell. As it is a little evident and being in that musical circle at the age of 6 years old he began to study and two years later he entered the music school and began his musical career, being in school he discovered many genres, with his friends and the influence he began to play in various groups of rock, jazz and alternative music in festivals and many more places, he shared the stage with great Cuban music in the big festivals of Havana. His grandfather Juan Formel when he was a child taught him the band "The Beatles", but at that time he did not know much or understand what was going on but over the years and with more musical preparation he began to understand their music as well as that of his grandfather and The Beatles, that's where he began to discover the new and "strange" sounds of electronic synthesizers and that called his attention because his grandfather used them and made music with them and gave a touch of futuristic sound, He starts to investigate about those weird and futuristic sounds and starts making experimental music, but one day he comes across a Ravers and said that's what I want to do, Johnny comes with dark sounds, hypnotic and groovy rhythms, he is still finding his musical stamp, he likes to mix very hypnotic sounds with a very moving rhythmic base, you can follow his latest production for the mighty techno Cuban label "Abstraction".

Djoy De Cuba is considered the pioneer and father of the Cuban Electronic Scene. Co-founder of the Electronic Music festival “Rotilla” together with promoter Michel Matos. This iconic event started in 1998 with only 150 ravers and reached 30.000 by 2010. Rotilla Festival became the voice of a new generation in the country.

Djoy has shared stage and decks with names like Jeff Mills, DJ Koze, Little Louie Vega, Danny Tenaglia, Ricardo Villalobos, Ellen Alien, among others.
