Both originating from Basel Switzerland, experimental dance outlets Amenthia Recordings and A Walking Contradiction combine forces and present their first collaborative release. Both known for their dare-to-do-different approach and proudly presenting sounds that come from their inner circle of friends they compiled the Flash Crash / Hack Crash EP with exactly this mindset. From Agonis' heavy stepper to Konduku's whirlpool of low frequencies on the Amenthia side with Lemont continuing on this same low-end tripped-out tip to the slo-mo swamp sounds from Varuna representing A Walking Contradiction in typical fashion.

Atomic 20 is a beautifully crafted Electro release that maintains venomous aggression, amidst breathtaking textures and ambience. Dutch producer Roland van Oorschot’s BS-1 project is the audio manifestation of the phrase ‘show no mercy’. The very same phrase used as the title of the legendary band Slayer’s debut album; a band that greatly influenced and inspired BS-1’s musical journey. If you can imagine the ferocity of that band and picture the guitars being replaced with machines you’ll be on the right track…

This EP is the first of two appearances planned for BS-1 on Bass Agenda Recordings in 2025 and brings four new tracks that blend dark atmospherics, high energy basslines, acid and relentless beats with jagged industrial edges. 

All tracks start simmering from the get go and come to boil in the ear with an intense maelstrom of sound engulfing the listener. BS-1 further shows his flair for atmosphere and power in the slower track Pain Stimulus that somehow drops the BPM and dials up the intensity of the experience.

Not one for the fain of heart but highly rewarding for those brave enough.
