Kate Miller’s far-reaching sound is over 10 years in the making. The Body Verse founder and UdK master student is renowned for delivering wide-ranging sets which move across genres with fluidity.

I was thrilled to be invited by Azu Tiwaline, who I am a huge fan of. I definitely had her in mind while recording this mix, which includes a few tracks from beloved friends, as well as an upcoming track from my label by the enormously talented Tibia. Aussie Kate Miller is one of our favourite DJs at the Stora Skuggan HQ - her diverse online radio sets are often played in the studio - naturally we were delighted when she said yes to joining our scented mix series. Aside from being a DJ, Kate is also a composer, sound designer and foley artist for film and other media; something that does not go unnoticed as her two hour (!) selection unfolds. Kate has created a mix playing with all your senses, exploring hidden sonic crevasses and subterranean pulsating rhythms. Enjoy!

Drone music without the professional boredom, Lou Drago is a Berlin-based artist whose selections can somehow reflect the deepness of what a great expanse of a ravine in the grand canyon might sound like at sunset - and further into the night.

How they do this is anyone's guess. To experience this first hand was a pleasure and highlight of our October edition, and other reason to check out their ambient, drone and experient series @transience-archive, and follow the sonic-seances created in collaboration with marum, infinity rug.

In the end you never know if an idea came to an end or will come back some day..

The Assignment: Break apart a piece of music and fill the resulting spaces.

Step 1: Choose a piece of music (whether your own or something in the public domain) and break it into sequential pieces. You might do this to a recording, or you might place gaps between parts of a notated melody (just to provide two different ways this instruction might be interpreted).
