narration: I live in a region that is home to some space industry – more importantly however, this region is also home to marvellous nature. This poem is nourished by many concepts and theories, most notably the colonial ideology of space as the „new frontier“ as well as Whiteheads „fallacy of misplaced concreteness“ and Nagel‘s thoughts expressed in „What is it like to be a bat“. It is also fed by the human-tamed beauty of reed landscapes around lake Federsee which can be seen in the photo I took.

welch unvorstellbare macht
muss die masse im erdkern
beleben, das wasser, die erde,
die wurzeln sicher zu halten

zu wahren, die landschaftsfalten
wie eine große gebärde
ins weltall zu richten, das fern
sternlicht um sternlicht entfacht

des tags wuchert das grün
höher und höher empor
bis der wind braune samen
biosphärenweit streut

welch wuchskraft, die sich nicht scheut
sich bis zum astralen
zu wenden aus schwarztiefem moor,
anarchisch und kühn

so müsse auch mensch sich recken,
heißt es, sich loszulösen,
zu den sternen zu streben,
geballte planetenmassen

mit erdensproßsinnen zu fassen,
sich aus den symbiosen zu heben
und seine bedürfnisblößen
xenobiotisch zu decken

welch trugschluss, den leib
dort zu bewegen, wo geist
sich angleicht und fragt: wie
ist es, so zu erleben

die saat darf und muss schweben,
sich aus massewucht lösen, die
sie hielt, doch wie weit sie auch reist,
das schilf, das sie treibt, verbleibt
