Jedi’s Chillout | Interview with Ben • Senoï Project

Voici une piste que nous avons composée en plein été, dans une maison ancienne, au fond d'une vallée Vosgienne. Nous avons récolté sur place tous les samples utilisés, pour ancrer notre musique dans l’atmosphère particulière du lieu. Imprégnés par le blues, et fascinés par la techno, nous ne voulions pas nous contenter d’apporter des influences de l’un de ces genres dans l’autre, mais les entremêler dans quelque chose qui soit leur fusion à parts égales.

Dans son grand âge, le blues s’appuie toujours sur ces antiques instruments de bois et d’os, dont les vibrations ont traversé les siècles. Pour l’épauler, à l’aube du millénaire, nous avons choisi des machines, faites de métal, dont les corps parcourus d’électrons ne s’altèrent pas et ne faiblissent jamais.

Numatica is the down tempo project from Melbourne based producer Andrew Hunt. Playing guitar in bands of various styles, Numatica evolved from a desire to incorporate various elements of electronic and acoustic music Andrew enjoyed into the one project, with the aim of keeping the songs melodic and rhythmic with interesting song structures, the result is a unique blend of dub styled sounds which travel through ambient, chill and dance elements. Numatica’s sound has been heard at various Australian and New Zealand festivals and can be found on Numatica's album 1x1=3, Dubutary and EP Sonic Circus, plus various compilations.

Juliette Bourdeix aka Youthie commence la trompette à 6 ans, et entre au conservatoire de Paris à 17 ans en trompette classique. Elle suit également une formation de jazz, et des cours d’improvisation avec Ibrahim Maalouf.

Diplômée du Pôle supérieur de Paris, elle enseigne actuellement la trompette aux conservatoires du 13e et 17e arrondissement de Paris et à Saint-Denis.

​Elle joue depuis 8 ans dans Natty Princess, groupe de reggae féminin qui s’est produit sur une centaine de dates. En 2015, elle fait la première partie des Gladiators avec le groupe Roots Connection.
Depuis deux ans, elle compose et enregistre p
our de nombreux labels de dub sous son nom de scène « Youthie », et ses morceaux sont régulièrement joués en sessions par des sounds system.

Après avoir fait ses armes sous son premier projet de psytrance “Xamek",
Robin aka “Huru” est alors tombé dans les rythmes plus lents et répétitifs de la
musique techno. Inspiré par des artistes tels que Kiasmos, Recondite ou
encore Luigi Tozzy, il compose alors ses tracks en utilisant un mélange de
synthétiseur analogique et d’outils numériques directement “in the box”. En
résulte un live deep et mélancolique qui à coup sûr vous transportera.

After deepening his musical knowledge with his first psytrance project « Xamek
», Robin aka Huru is falling to the slower and repetitive rhythms of techno
music. Inspired by artists like Kiasmos, Recondite and Luigi Tozzy, he creates
his tracks using a blend of analog synthesizers and directly « in the box »
numeric tools. Resulting in a deep and melancholic live show which will
surprise you for sure.
