Fresh off the release of his anticipated debut full-length, “Derealization”, issued a few weeks ago on Ego Death, Detroit-based producer Uun clocks in our podcast series to deliver some of his vehemently rugged and dark gospel, and to which effect! With a number of choice releases under his belt for some of the most highly-regarded techno labels out there (MORD, Semantica, Modularz…), Uun is one to indulge in the harsher, choppier side of industrial rhythms, more keen on point-blank bazooka hits than long-distance minimal sniper-ism if he where to choose a side. His RYC mix features the very brain-melting character of his compositions and we’re delighted to count him on board. Innocent souls beware, expect a hail of roaring steel and molten iron all along the way.

Surprisingly, it is full of untraditional patterns and complex tonalities bound to make one heck of an acoustic journey that will surely be echoing in weeks to come. Coming up in the music scene of Kansas City and currently residing in Detroit, @uun developed his interest in the fringes of sound as a guitarist in multiple bands before turning his focus to techno in 2012. Both his early work as a band member and his current work as a techno producer share a common exploration of darkness both in mood and in execution. Hard Wax described Uun's sound as a "straight ahead techno juggernaut.", As well as releasing on Mord, Dynamic Reflection and many more, he has his own imprint Titled Ego Death. This is a studio recording mix, it consists of all original material, much of it unreleased.

Creating vast cavernous trenches and atmospheric bleeds to form indescribable audio landscapes is American born producer Ryan Malony, who explores textural landscapes under the renowned pseudonym, Uun.

Originally emerging from Kansas and now based out of downtown Detroit, Uun found his way into music through his involvement in several bands for which he used to perform on guitar.

Staffan Linzatti is well known since years in the techno scene and established himself as a creative and open minded artist. He shows his forward thinking, dreamy, spacy and fast tunes not only in tracks he produces, but also in live sets he played in venues such as Berghain. 

Together with his brother he owns the label Searchlight Records where new ideas are constantly being researched and developed - as timless, forward thinking music.

Some of you figured it out already. Here's the full upload of our 43rd podcast. @acquarioimmersioni is on recording duties. These fine dudes throw monthy daytime parties at Masada, Milan. They transform the library into a place full of psychedelic stimuli for the eyes and ears. Usual suspects at their events are Peter Van Hoesen, Wa Wu We, A. Brehme, Nuel, Jane Fitz,... We're happy to have the Milanese librarians as guests for our next installment.

Having been producing and performing since 2010, Uun has been a staple of the techno scene for many years. His mind melting live performance have been featured at many institutions, including Movement Festival in Detroit, Tresor in Berlin, Khidi in Tbilisi, and Basement in NYC. Resident Advisor referred to this ability to work within many different imprints and styles as “quietly infiltrating techno”, and compared his music to the latter days of the Sandwell District.

He is perhaps best known as a producer, having released substantial work on some of the most respected underground techno labels, including Mord, Semantica, and Soma. The genre defining record store Hard Wax described Uun's sound as a "straight ahead techno juggernaut." He also has his own label titled Ego Death, where he releases his most genre defying material.
