This song is very special to me as it’s about my momma. It tells the story of her growing up in New Orleans, a young girl living during segregation, bringing up 4 kids as a single mother, losing everything in 3 major Hurricanes (including Hurricane Katrina)...plus her name sounds like Superman’s girlfriend ‘Lois Lane’ (which I reference in the song). Releasing this EP is a huge milestone for me. With my album release being pushed back to 2022, I thought this was the perfect time to release a smaller body of work, while I finish up the album. By releasing this EP, I get to show you more of my sound and more of who I am as an artist and songwriter, which is all very exciting to me!
