Greetings SCR fam!  2020 set us back a bit with our shows and we sincerely apologize to keep ya'll waiting for so long but fear no more as come back at you with a new installment for 2021!   Diving into the month of February, we feel it would only be appropriate to pay homage to one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time, the late great, J Dilla.  This is the 2nd ever J Dilla Tribute show we done on SCR and we know you will enjoy this one.  Once again, thank you for your patience and as always, we appreciate your continued support. I finished recording EVIVA late October 2000. It was originally a CD, first I burned them one at a time and printed and cut a bunch of covers, then I got the CD manufactured properly. There were a lot of these CDs out there at one point, I wonder how many are still around. This was something of a message in a bottle to a pleasant piece of my imagination. Thirteen years later, same place, different time. It is the 1st part of a 3 part series, I still owe one more to it, maybe one day........

This mixtape brought a lot into my life, and I've been told that this mixtape brought a lot into others lives too. I hope you enjoy it.

It all started with the cassette.. Growing up in the 90's pre-internet era, meant that our ways to get inspired was by the things we observed in the streets, skate shops, record stores, magazines, VHS tapes or the music we heard on the radio. 

Deeply inspired by the US East Coast underground hip hop scene, we started collecting vinyl and doing dubs from the rarely-existing dope DK radio shows.. (thanks to Peder, Knud, Noize, Typhoon & DJ Power for the inspiration!).
Dubbing and compiling the illest joints from the radio to cassette became a weekly rutine.

Piles of mixtapes on cassettes and 20+ internet years later, we now felt like doing a tribute cassette to the sounds that raised us. 

This is actually the 20th Pasteelo Mixtape - What a way to celebrate!

The mixtape mainly contains instrumentals and a few vocal tracks from the 1994-2000 golden era of independent hip hop. Enjoy!

Flashback. At the turn of the first decade of 2000, a stray cat from the Parisian suburbs named Fritz came to skin the bling bling of the time by imposing his claw on the scene of international indie rap. With Slow Down and On & On a series of EPs on 7’ in an ultra-efficient jazzy manifesto, the beatmaker earned his stripes with class and insolence. Since then, the path of the Paris’ tom cat is built over his experiences and meetings, including the album Beats Per Minute in duet with rapper Audessey (Soundsci), released on the prestigious American label Slice Of Spice (Lord Finesse, Marco Polo...). One will not need more to register the legend of ACCF on the pantheon of the most talented French producers of international underground Hip Hop and confirm the adage that cats control the world.
In 2015, Fritz decides to condense his night wanderings in his first album Tribulations & Life of, an album anchored in his time, made in the moment and with instinct. A few years later, crowned by a signature at the legendary German label HHV, Fritz continues to drag his feline silhouette to the four corners of the globe. So that listening to his latest album Vertical Iris gives the pleasant sensation of moving forward Stealthily in known terrain as on a new land to clear.
Addictive samples, raw and rough tones nuanced from the blue notes of the 90’s rap punctuated by cinematographic atmospheres, the same flawless recipe applied since its beginnings, is here reinforced by a slew of hand-picked featurings such as Black Josh (UK), Audessey (US), Sach (The Nonce / US), Glad2mecha (US), LayFullStop (UK) ...
