The son of Haitian immigrants who migrated to America looking for relief, freedom, and a better life away from the crippling hands of a rising dictator in the Early 80s, Ace Santino is a musician and artist , who’s lyrics contain tales of a black man growing up in the real Miami, the polar opposite of the beloved “South Beach”. His music is a first hand account of growing up as a first generation Haitian-American in the tough streets of Miami-Dade County aka 305 or Da Crib long known for its glitz and glamor, drug use, beautiful beaches, and celebrated party and nightlife culture. Proclaiming often as providing hope to the hopeless and a voice to the voiceless, take a look through the lenses of Ace as he tells the story of those often overlooked and silenced.
