After an 18-month hiatus from releasing music, Superfreq is back with this stunning EP by The Cheek. With a plethora of amazing releases lined up, expect Superfreq releases to be coming at you thick & fast. 

The Cheek is a collaboration between Superfreq label boss Mr.C with his dear friend Nick Synergy, now known as Modulon TV. C & Nick come with 3 brand new tracks.

The EP kicks off with title track Ashiddohausu, melodic deep acid tech at its finest. Deep haunting pads are soon joined by off-beat electro drums. The pads build deliciously until the track kicks in, switching to 4 on the floor in the process. A thick bassline, edgy chord stabs, an infectious acid line & vocal samples create a journey with this celestial masterpiece.

Next up comes Dance Or Die. Mixed down by Robert Babicz, this is another slice of delicious Deep Acid Tech. Pounding beats, thick bass, deep stabs, eerie synth hits, twisted acid lines & mischievous vocal samples make up this cheeky number. The off-beat electro break half way in sums up what The Cheek is all about, flitting between Deep Tech & Electro beats with abandon.

The EP seals the deal with final track Jamboni. This is pure old school electro breaks attitude with a modern tight & crisp production. The bass is huge, the beats are dope, the synths are again eerie & haunting with edgy off-kilter frequencies in this catchy yet deeply trippy number.

Busy Portsmouth born duo Acid Cats debut with Superfreq with this long awaited powerful 3 track Acid banger of an EP.

We kick off with the cheekily named title track “Descending Into Chaos”, which starts with flanged hats & soon kicks in fully with pounding beats, intense 303’s, powerful stabs & a rolling bassline. It’s a proper monster.

Next up comes “Secret Virus Spreader”, another unrelenting Deep Tech Acid banger with solid beats, infectious bassline, wonky 303s, eerie chord stabs & trippy synths to boot. 

The EP rounds off with “Is This Detroit”. Straight in with deep trippy 303s & eerie pads, this haunting acid number is an ode to Techno’s birthplace the D. 

This absolute monster of an EP clearly demonstrates why Superfreq remains one of the top modern Acid House / Deep Tech labels in the world.

First up in our new mix series is the one and only, Terry Francis!

The second edition of Time Trials features none other than West-Coast legend Tone Rangole. Tone is co-founder of Household Recordings & Lifted Music and is also resident DJ at Strut SF. Household Recordings is an established California bay area record label that has released outstanding records from pioneers such as Terry Francis, Nathan Coles & Nils Hess, Jay Tripwire, Eddie Richards, and Gideon Jackson.

Tone Rangole has been on the turntables since ‘99, being a student of the underground and fan of the house music movement since ‘95. Tone's production has been featured on his own label Household, along with Graff Traxx and NSF Records.

He’s gone deep into his bag to provide us with over an hour of genuine vinyl selections. We hope you enjoy this rare treat!

PACE: Time Trials |002| Tone Rangole

UK based record label Weapons of Desire was born on the 30th November 2017. The brain child of three friends Alex Handley, Mick Clarke and Toni Aslam. Alex and Toni first met Mick two years before when they had a couple of Auto Sound City EPs out on Mick’s long running Flight Recorder label. 

The saying “Being around the block a few times” is an understatement when you look at the recording history of them all. Playing, making and releasing music all the way back to the 80’s (even further in Mick’s case) seemed like a natural progression when talking about a potential label and the vision they had before its creation using their recording names (Iron Blu and Auto Sound City) to make the kind of music they wanted to dance to. The ethos was and still is to release tough dancefloor publications as stated in the label description "Spinning an endless cable of steel sound".

Over the years Weapons Of Desire has released vinyl as single-sided two track hand stamped records, four track EPs, a couple of six track compilations entitled Machine Funk Vol. 1 and 2, double packs and an album. The label Is also now fully integrated with regular digital releases too.

31 releases and a total of 33 different artists, Weapons of Desire has a seat firmly at the table with more chairs added for 2025. Afterall without great music, life would most certainly be a mistake
