Bside Incoming!! This instalment is our fifth show of the Incoming series (where DJs who can't make it to Scotland to record a live Bside mix send us their favourite B-sdies online) and this time it’s all the way from Germany - Joe Cleen.

A Berlin based producer who has operated under many monikers in the last 20 years, he has released records on such prestigious labels as Sloth Boogie and Jazz Cabbage. Most recently featuring on the A2 of the new Repsies EP with a sunny disco edit full of nostalgia and energy.

Not limiting himself to producing, Joe has made a strong name for himself as a disk jockey. Treating his listeners to some of the gems in his record collection which he began at the budding young age of 11. His Bside Incoming mix is testament to his passion for synthy disco, sweet soulful grooves and joyful jazz. Certainly one to warm your cockles as the winter sets in.

We are so excited to finally bring this episode to you all (it is definitely episode 28 so just ignore Stephens intro) and we can quite safely say this is one of the best yet. Nathan brought an incredible selection with him, including some seriously rare tunes, down to the institution that is Rubadub to record his Bside. Before going B2B with his good friend Avalon Emerson all night long at La Cheetah Club! 

If you don’t already know him, you will have more than likely heard his music played at clubs and festivals over the last couple of years. Tracks like The Party We Could Have and Beginning Ballads have been a staple of many sets throughout Europe and beyond.

Having released under the alias Bwana since 2011, originally producing post-dubstep and moving towards housey vibes, Nathan rebranded to his own name. Since then he has released countless remix’s/edits, multiple EPs, his debut album Blue Spring on the amazing LuckyMe and has set up 3 record labels - Schvitz Edits, Eternal Schvitz and Original Schvitz. 

This is Nathan's unofficial audition for BBC Radio 1, and we think he absolutely smashed it! Expect some of the best trance ever to grace your earholes,  some wicked breaks and garage and of course a bit of Joni Mitchell because Canada🇨🇦

Martin Jenkins, more commonly known as the artist Pye Corner Audio, epitomizes Lapsus' commitment to cutting edge sound experimentation. In 2017, he beguiled the electronic music community by releasing the 'Where Things Are Hollow' EP, on Lapsus Records. Now we are delighted to announce the release of ‘Where Things Are Hollow 2’, consisting of three brand new original cuts and a breath-taking remix from none other than John Talabot.

'Where Things Are Hollow 2' explores a spectral and hypnagogic terrain, establishing an electronic sound that at times invokes Jenkins’ more dance friendly facet -'Self Synchronize', 'Weather The Storm'– while also offering his familiar iridescent dreamlike ambient textures –'Phase B'– that featured prominently on his first EP.

This second EP also includes a remix from John Talabot, unquestionably one of Spain’s most internationally recognised names over the last decade, who exquisitely reimagines 'Resist' -a song from the first EP-, transforming it into a cross between EBM and hypnotic techno.

From a graphic design perspective, renowned artists Alex Trochut and Basora have once again collaborated on this project, repeating the formula that made the artwork for "Where Things Are Hollow" such a collector's item.

A big moment for Dawn Again, as this is his own record label that will release primarily my own music. A special thanks to the City of Yarra for making this project possible by accepting his application for their COVID19 Quick Response grant.

The concept behind this record is that everything has been done witin Melbourne. All tracks were produced & mixed by Dawn Again. Mastering was also done locally by Corey Kikos (Sleed D). He went with Zenith Records which is a local vinyl pressing plant. Local record stores will get a round of records to sell exclusively, then the rest will be sold by Dawn Again either on Bandcamp or by hand.

Finally, he acknowledges the Wurundjeri People as the traditional owners of the land on which this record was produced. I pay my respects to their elders, past and present, and the Aboriginal Elders of the Wurundjeri People who may be here today. A percentage of the profits will be donated to Childrens Ground Organisation
