The original version is for tenor saxophone and computer, with audio coming out of the audience's cell phones or devices. This is a studio recording, emulating the 2nd version using a traditional sound system.

Luminous

My favorite moment every morning comes when my baby daughter, Penelope, wakes up full of smiles and optimism. The title "Such Small Things" comes from a StoryPeople print that hangs in her nursery. Brian Andreas's words perfectly capture the anticipation of her arrival into this world.

MiLO performs a show at the Sugar Maple in Milwaukee. Performers in the first set were: Chris Burns, David Collins, Elliot Patros, Adam Murphy, Kevin Schlei, Steve Schlei, Jim Schoenecker, Amanda Schoofs, and Seth Warren-Crow.

Reagan HS IB Music 1 students performing an excerpt from Terry Riley's structured improvisation "In C."  In our recording you will hear a continuous eighth note pulse that stays on C for the entire 17 minutes (the entire performance is actually over an hour long)!  The other performers then play short repeating motives, or musical ideas, that are written as a long string of cells.  The combined sound of the entire ensemble encourages the performers to listen to the overlapping interactions between similar and contrasting patterns.  Enjoy!
