Acos Coolkas are Konstantin Atomas and Vasiliy Basalaev from Omsk, Russia. Omsk by the way is the largest city of Southern Siberia situated at the crossing of Transsiberian Magistral and the Irtysh river - 2500 kilometers from Moscow to the East. It’s pretty hard to imagine where it is unless you are a geography expert. However - there are people that produce electronic music like this living there.Acos Coolkas are mainly known in Russia for their domestic works and releases and “Skyline” is one of their first releases abroad and first (but definitely not the last) appearance on Theomatic. Their atmospheric, freshness-breathing house seasoned original version supported by Andrei Zakharov aka An-2 with his more-serious-attitude-to-the-things stratospheric disco story on B-side.

'Fahrenheit' begins with tightly woven woodblock tones, sitting harmoniously alongside overdriven, reverb-soaked claps. The introduction of drum and cowbell brings up the pace and a growling bass provides the foundation, but as the track develops the many textures in its undergrowth become apparent. From sawtooth synths to the slap bass, echo’d voice interjections and glistening pan pipes, these are just some of the examples of what a close listen can uncover in Daniel T’s dense soundscape.

Having featured on Eskimo Recordings' last two compilations Russian producer Antenna now steps up for his first full release for the label with the 5 track 'From Kazan With Love' EP. 

Hailing from the Tatarstan Republic where temperatures frequently drop below -15°C, Antenna shares more than just an appreciation of good thermal underwear with his Nordic contemporaries and his music, all glacial cosmic vibes, warm arpeggios and melodies that wear their heart on their sleeve, stands up alongside the best Nordic disco around.

Opening with his two contributions to Eskimo's colour series of compilations, the gentle and optimistic caress 'Sparks' and the breezy slo-mo Balearic gem 'Love 66', Antenna really reaches for the skies with the EP's third track 'Astra', the kind of euphoric Trance-Disco that's sure to cause more than a few outbreaks of emotion on the dance floor.

If 'Astra' sounds like a one-way ticket to the cosmos then it's just as well Antenna follows that back with 'Take Me Home'. Dialling down the BPMs and up the groove, Antenna finds the unlikely sweet spot somewhere between P-Funk and Prog Rock to produce some out of this world, languid space-funk.

Closing the EP, 'Waiting' reveals another side to this enigmatic producer, ditching the disco beats for something more experimental whilst incorporating stately strings and elegiac piano into the proceedings to create an unexpected, if wholly welcome, coda to the release.

Antenna - Take Me Home

I was asked to do a remix of Yoav's "Blood Moon" back in 2017.
That summer, I almost didn't had any spare time to work on the remix. Therefor I made most of this track on the train, on my way to work.

Shortly after, I was diagnosed with cancer and had to quit a lot of things in my life, including this remix project.

Fortunately, I recovered from the disease. 
I had totally forgotten the remix at that time. Until someone asked me about it again.

It actually took me quite a while just to locate the project file on my computer. 
I hadn't named the project anywhere near the original track name and could not remember the working titel of the project. 
I was forced to search through almost any project file on my laptop until I found the following working title: "On a train".

To me, this songs real name will always be "On a train" and remind me of both bad and god news.
