Edinburgh’s C Mantle is not specific to a singular sound. But there is a style to his sound. It’s not tied to beats per minute, nor beat structure. It doesn't matter whether it’s intense speedcore; mutant hip hop manifestations; thunderous hardcore techno; or abstract electro/idm, as is the case with Anatomically Correct. There is a particular way Mantle programmes his sound. A signature sound, if you will. Sharp, angular, raw, high grade sonic precision. And not without a certain machine funk swagger to the whole thing.

Across 4 sides of 180gram vinyl Acre Recordings present some of C Mantle’s most accomplished work to date. A culmination of the very best things about Mantle’s music.

On this record he has managed to make a contradicting rough-in-feel, smooth-to-listen-to collection of work centred around interpreting entropy. Shards of sonics crunch and swell as they flow over, through and at you. Step beats, booms, icy crystals and mischievous machines flex all the while.

With wonderfully vivid playful artwork commissioned from Lukas Weidinger, mastering by Denis Blackham, Anatomically Correct is simply, a very good pure electronic record.
