Born in Buenos Aires and currently based in Montreal (CA), Jaijiu is an audiovisual artist influenced by the Argentine club sound, as well as its folklore and cumbia. His productions approach the rhythm in an edgy way, mixing his roots with current influences.

This release is intended for an imaginary and confined dance floor. It is danceable, while groundbreaking and uncomfortable, as the audio is pushed to the limit in search of drowning out all thoughts in volume and excess. In Jaijiu's words, “the louder it gets, the less I hear what's in my head.”

“42 AM” captures the distorted sound of our previous releases, but also brings kuduro, Latin music and noise to the table. It will be available as digital download via Nodo Label.

Confined Space stems from the idea of repurposing audio material from YouTube, in an artistic process that values quantity over quality. Random videos are selected using different key words and their audio is chopped and compressed into the DAW to be used as compositional elements. Often scrolling down to get the uploads with the least views, this process is both a reflection on the enormous quantity of material that can be found online and an invitation to use and repurpose digital content in new artistic ways. What is inside the database is not important, its size already makes for an infinite output of ideas.

Luca Favaro is an Italian musician and composer. Starting as a classical percussionist, he approaches electronic music composition finding his roots in sound design, club music and field recording. With the moniker T.U. he has published with False Industries (Berlin), Hide Productions (Milan, Udine) and World Canvas (Helsinki) as well as scoring music for installations, theatre and ballet. He currently hosts Desktop Music, a monthly show on radio Raheem where he explores sound design and generative music through original compositions. With the dance-focused project Capiuz, Favaro investigates a more rhythmic approach to his compositions, exploring the more experimental and hypnotic sides of dance music. As a programmer, he has created various Max for Live devices published by Hide Productions in an ongoing series.

Cicada is a time manipulation effect that warps and smears audio in real time. The device is divided into two independent sections: SCRMBL creates a cloud like texture by running the incoming sound through a cascade of modulating delays, with the possibility of adding extra pitch shifted layers. WARP imitates the warp feature on Ableton’s clips, with a grain/speed control and the possibility of having it synced and retriggered according to live’s tempo.

NMNH POWERMIX 12: VERS

PhD in Post Human Dance is a slogan of Helsinki based AV collective and event series run by multidisciplinary artist Erika Shalii and CCI artist Maisa Immonen. Post Human Dance is a medium for studying future scenarios through organising events and creating audiovisual club experiences. Its a platform with a focus on modern hybrid club music and futurist visual aesthetics with elements of interactive new media. "Wings of Ephemerida" was compiled to finalize first 2 years of "Post Human Dance" platform's existence.

A mayfly Ephemeridae's live is brief. It lasts only one day, but no one would value this day as much as it would Ephemeridae.

Paidia shows up when you are on the pick of your playfulness and carefree gaiety. It’s an indivisible principle common to diversion, turbulence and free improvisation. It’s a state of uncontrolled fantasy that you perform out of feelings of love and security. Paidia is an absence of fear. It lies on the intersection of life and dream.
