“I am a producer but I feel more like a sound researcher. I like to research new environments, new sonic realms.” In this statement, Italian producer Pyramidal Decode, the focus of this new episode of DYSTOPIA, sums up not only his personal musical methodology but also captures the essence of what techno is: not music but the sculpting of abstract sonic impulses. In this episode, we explore firstly how the intersection of the abstract core of techno with the overt expressivity of Latin cultures has created a powerful techno variant that is now dominant in the global scene. At the apex of this creative movement is Pyramidal Decode, whose own productions embody a wildly experimental, mesmerising, yet utterly concrete, manifestation of what techno can be. He shares with us the background to his unique artist name, his motivations to make techno, the reasons behind his prolific creative output, as well as his newfound position as owner of his new record label PHYR. 'This set is a personal journey inspired by both the Berlin electronic scene and my hometown of Wrocław. I start with driving, hypnotic tracks that gradually pull the listener into a deep trance. As the set progresses, the music becomes more dynamic and emotional, layering sounds that tell a story of a path filled with nostalgia and a wide range of intense feelings - not always positive, but honest and raw. For me, this set is more than just a selection of tunes - it’s an outlet for various emotions, from melancholy to euphoria, creating a space for inner transformation. Char2 is a DJ and producer who is not afraid of experimenting in his mixes. His music is a dynamic mix of sounds that arouses emotions and does not allow you to sit still. He has a track record of performing in clubs such as Ciało, Noce or Alchemia where his sets are met with an enthusiastic reception. His talent has also been noticed on the festival stage - he had the opportunity to play at the Sadzimy Techno Las Festival. He passionately explores new sounds and is constantly looking for inspiration, which makes his music fresh and unpredictable.
