Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: Earlier this year I started in the position as Head of Music at Strøm Festival, which is one of Copenhagen’s finest institutions for electronic music. It’s such a privilege to be doing this, it’s wild! Before that I spent one and a half years mentoring and tutoring at Future Female Sounds DJ academy. It’s an organization that works towards inclusion for femmes, trans and non-binary people in the field of DJ’ing. So many good femme and queer DJ’s in Copenhagen, oopft.

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:. Acknowledge your privilege, share your knowledge, open doors for those who need it. Reach out and don’t be afraid to ask for help or advice. Be kind and be brave (is this perhaps a Cinderella quote??) 
Be in it for the music, the art and the creativity of it. Keep digging and exploring. Anyone can learn how to use cdjs, but the real deal is digging. Digging and keeping your mind open to new influences, new people and new genres.

There are two really nice initiatives here in Copenhagen that I think could inspire other parts of the world in terms of creating safer conditions for vulnerable people in the streets.

We're back with The Hustle No. 70 by Edinburgh based DJ & producer Smiff, who can only be described as "one to keep an eye on"! With 22, he's already made a name for himself in the scottish club scene as a DJ since 2021 and recently started his own club night in Edinburgh called Red Room Sound where he worked and played with the likes of An Avrin, Nikki Nair & DJ ADHD. And if that's not enough to pique your interest, his productions - defined by a mixture of uk bass, electro and techno - sure will! His latest release "Verbal Groove" certainly opened up our ears for this upcoming artist and we're very excited to watch where his journey is going. Back in 2016, Skee Mask and Zenker Brothers spontaneously attempted to play together at an afterparty in Prague, but after ten minutes the electricity failed. Two years later they finally had the opportunity to play a joint extended set for the first time - at Unsound Kraków 2018. The three DJs closed Saturday night in Hotel Forum with an expansive set building on adventurous forms of techno, jungle and broken beat, combining the collective interests of Ilian Tape. The set kicked off at 4am in the Ball Room.

Mor Elian began DJing at parties even before she was strictly old enough. That was back home in Tel Aviv, and since then she has spent time in Berlin and Los Angeles. She now has also settled into her role as one of electro's most vital artists thanks to head-turning EPs on Delft and most often her own Fever AM, as well as recently minting Cinnaman's brand new Visible Spectrum with her Clairvoyant Frog EP. The strong independent spirit she has had since her youth led Mor to setting up LA-based party Into The Woods, and right now the music she makes and plays is just as singular as the artist herself. 

This mix proves that across 90 thrilling minutes which take in many different, futuristic blends of techno and electro. There's trippy sci-fi stuff for the afterparty, dark, strobe lit bangers for the peak of the night and deeper, more stripped back sounds to keep you in the zone. The tunes race by at high speed but also come stuffed with the sort of details that keep your mind in overdrive as you ride the rugged rhythms on the seat of your pants. Strap in.
