The Thatcher effect is about a cognitive dysfunction that affects the perception we have of certain objects, more specifically faces. A little brain game that offers us a reality different from ours. On this occasion, with “Thatcher Effect EP” I wanted to show that not everything we hear is perceived in the same way. There are infinite possibilities, endless ways of understanding music, whatever genre it is. After a very difficult year, away from my true passion, I present this new 4-track EP, which tells a story, a vision of my own reality. I really wanted to go back to the studio, and I hope you find this new musical adventure exciting, created directly from the heart to your senses. Thanks to the entire Reversible Records team, my family, friends and artists who have contributed their share to make this EP happen. Leave us your opinion about it! What is your favorite track? Meet ChrisKinkel, a DJ who delved into the world of turntables in 2000 at the age of 16, all while immersing himself in the electrifying Drum & Bass scene. He was a fervent raver, donning baggy pants and chasing down every Drum & Bass rave in northern Germany. Formerly known as ChrisC.K, he garnered recognition for his exceptional double-drop mixing skills and performed at various gigs until 2015. 
Today, Chris' musical repertoire spans genres like Neo-/Italo-Disco, UK Bass, Techno, and Drum & Bass. An enthusiastic vinyl collector, in 2022, he initiated a weekly vinyl-only DJ stream on Twitch to demystify DJing. This year, Chris returned to the public stage in Hamburg at Rote Flora with an exhilarating techno set.

It's The Hustle No. 78 and we have the pleasure of welcoming up-and-comer CHINYERE. After a spectacular performance at our CLUB CRITTERS event in September this is a real treat. 

Ever since they moved to Hamburg in 2021, CHINYERE has been interested in mixing music like Gqom, Sgubhu, Jersey Club, Afrobeats, UK Garage and Amapiano. A year later, CHINYERE had the chance to take part in a DJ mixing workshop by the amazing DJ Collective "Slic Unit". After this introduction they cannot stop collecting, arranging and mixing different music genres like Gqom, Sgubhu, (Proto-)hyperpop, Deconstructed Club, Experimental Electronic and PC Music. 

For The Hustle CHINYERE delivers a juiced up, stompy genre-swirl that will leave you beaming.

We've barely recovered from the sun-scorched assault of Technique's Summer 2016 album, and yet, already, there's more Drumsound & Bassline Smith material for us to get our ears around. Proving they've got too much fire for one label to contain, their recent excursions on Playaz and Function Records have been setting raves alight, and now they're back on their home turf. So, what have the Technique bosses cooked up for us this time?

First on the menu is “I'm Gone”. And this one isn't just a Tune with a capital T, it's also a Song with a capital S. Bully hasn't just provided a singalong hook, but a fully structured lyric which drives the track just as much as the relentless bassline. From the lighters-up intro through to the soar of the build to the solar-plexus strike of the drop, this is going to deliver everywhere from festival main stages to early-hours after-parties. No watering-down, no gentle chaser, just a neat shot of pure vocal drum and bass.

And then it's time to handle “The Truth”. The original hit hard when it dropped at the end of last year, but now Drumsound & Bassline Smith have unleashed the VIP and things have got even more serious. First of all, the intro has an extra level of cinematic sci-fi epicness, which perfectly sets us up for the additional brutality of the drop. The militantly staccato bass of the original is given a re-lick with more unpredictable twists and turns. This is one for selectors to pull out to ensure they keep the rave in the palm of their hand.

To put it simply, here are two dancefloor-wrecking heavyweight pieces from the ever-prolific DBS team. To put it even simpler, it's Drumsound & Bassline Smith, so what did you expect?
