This time around, I decided to try something a little different. I had a pretty good idea of what @justynmyers would spin before me, and I definitely knew what @oganic would throw down after me, so I attempted a selection of songs that would create a nice dovetail. 2025-01-17 Live at Wayward

What a way to start off the new year! For January 2025, Wayward did a rare Friday front room takeover at F8, and we started the year off with a bang! Our extended lineup consisted of Xyme, Justyn Myers, Adam Iko, OGAN, and yours truly, then we finished off the night with a little B2B session between OGAN and Yaz (left out of this recording -- by that point OGAN was still on point, but I was half DJ half mezcal)... All the homies came out of the woodwork, the dancefloor was packed, and I'm still smiling thinking about it 2 weeks later!

For the February 2025 edition of Wayward, I was very excited to drop a bunch of tracks that I had just picked up the week prior, and was salivating at the thought of playing them in a club setting! It was a super fun night, and I was joined on the decks by some very talented artists: DJ Cira (Adult Services), Jonboy (Disco Katz), and fellow DeMentha member Feen. Borderland 2025 @ Muumimaa, Saturday after the burn (Live Recording)

This was my 9th time at the helm for the Man Burn—a tradition I’ve carried every year since my very first burn. To be honest, I was completely exhausted—emotionally, physically, and mentally. As it always does, the music and the people brought me back to life. And in that sea of feelings, I poured everything the burn had taught me into this set.

This year, I chose to play pieces from every era of my journey as a DJ. It felt right to share nostalgic, meaningful songs that aligned with the theme Tomorrow Today. Tracks about time, love, and connection—songs meant to create a living memory for all of us gathered in that sacred evening.

The mix was fully improvised, guided only by what the moment whispered for me to play. I can only hope it became something we will all carry within us—a reminder etched in rhythm and dust.

Yaz is a San Francisco-based DJ who enjoys playing tech house, deep tech, minimal, and techno. He is an active member of the Burning Man community and underground house/techno community in San Francisco.

Yaz has played all over San Francisco at all the major venues, including Public Works, Mighty / The Great Northern, Monarch, Midway, and Halcyon. He was a resident DJ at the venerated Wish Lounge for 5+ years, running his monthly Wayward party right up until the pandemic caused Wish to close. Once it was safe to do so, he has taken Wayward to its new home F8 Nightclub, and has been a resident there since August 2021. 

Yaz has collaborated with many different promoters and labels, and has opened and closed for (or shared billing with) well-known artists including John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Scumfrog, Tommy Four Seven, John Monkman, Technasia, and Marques Wyatt, to name a few.

His love for Burning Man is only rivaled by his love for music. His styles go from deep tech, minimal and techno to indie dance. You can find him on the playa playing for his camp DeMentha, and everywhere else for The Janky Barge, Airpusher, and Icarus. Yaz has also participated in many fundraisers in San Francisco for the aforementioned camps, as well as DISTRIKT, Mayan Warrior, the Salty Jacks, and others.
