Another one of those songs that asks questions. I tried to give the track a bounce-along feel to reflect the way humans tend to set aside the realities of what is happening around them.

Officer Elara Nightshade, the lone sentinel of the Midnight Security Hub, had seen it all—rowdy clubbers, lost IDs, and the occasional tipsy tumble. But tonight, beneath the inky sky, something shifted. The air hummed with extraterrestrial anticipation.

The security booth, a fortress of steel and surveillance, stood at the edge of the abandoned airstrip. Elara’s eyes flickered over the monitors—empty dancefloors, deserted VIP lounges. The bassline from the nearby club throbbed through her bones, a heartbeat of the city.

And then, the UFO descended.

Its light pierced the night, casting Elara’s shadow against the booth’s glass. She squinted, heart racing. Was it a prank? A hallucination? But the glowing saucer defied logic. It hovered, silent and menacing, its alien geometry mocking her mundane existence.

Elara’s training kicked in. She reached for her radio, but static crackled. The UFO’s light intensified, bathing her in otherworldly luminescence. Her skin prickled. Was this abduction? Enlightenment? Or something far more sinister?

And then, the hatch opened.

Three extraterrestrial beings emerged. Their forms blurred—part shadow, part substance. Elara’s breath caught. They wore hooded cloaks, their eyes twin voids. Were they here to observe, experiment, or harvest?

The tallest alien extended a hand—a gesture of peace or domination? Elara hesitated, then stepped out of the booth. The UFO’s light enveloped her, revealing her past—the childhood stargazing, the dreams of cosmic voyages.

“Elara Nightshade,” the alien intoned, its voice like distant echoes. “You guard the threshold. Your world teeters on the brink. We offer a choice.”

Elara’s pulse raced. “What choice?”

“Twilight Shift,” the alien whispered. “Embrace the rhythm of the cosmos. Become the bridge between realms. Or remain in your mundane cage.”

Elara glanced back at the booth—the security cameras, the emergency button. But the UFO’s light beckoned. She stepped aboard, her boots sinking into the alien metal. The hatch closed, sealing her fate.

Inside, the aliens revealed their purpose: interdimensional DJs. Their decks pulsed with cosmic frequencies, their headphones linked to galactic playlists. Elara hesitated, then donned the headphones. The music—part trance, part techno, part starlight—rewired her DNA.

As the UFO ascended, Elara became the guardian of the in-between. She spun the decks, mixing human beats with celestial harmonies. The Earth below blurred—a twilight shift into the unknown.

And so, Officer Elara Nightshade danced—her pulse synchronized with the universe. The UFO vanished, leaving only a glowing memory. The clubbers never knew—their bassline now infused with stardust.

“Twilight Shift,” Elara whispered, her eyes on the distant stars. “I choose the rhythm of the cosmos.”

Note: “Twilight Shift” isn’t just a track; it’s an invitation to transcend boundaries, to dance beyond time, and to become part of the cosmic symphony. 🌌🎶

Hi.  Just a little about myself.  I enjoy all gene of music, and all eras.  My parents (especially my father) introduced me to music at an early were I brought my first guitar from Sears, and ever since then I have been playing.  It has only been recently that I have taken my singing to a more serious note (no pun intended) and at the age of 58, because of vocal exercises, and other mental health reasons, have focus more effort in this area.   Now over 60,  I have accepted that I will never be the greatest singer in the world, but it gives me something back and that's invaluable.  I hope you enjoy some of the tracks I have posted and will continue to come back for future posts.  If you want, please send in your requests.
