Munich based producers Julian Wassermann & Oliver Deuerling stick to their roots on their “Monopterus” EP. A sonic incursion into the deep ends of house and tech, the duo pay homage to their hometown, as each title track points us in the direction of a well known city landmark.

Much like the monument with the same name, “Monopterus” is a solid construction starting off with an exposed kick that’s soon suspended by intricate melody parts, spare percussion and ethereal synths. Björn Störig tones down the drama on the remix. By focusing on the percussive line, Störig reshapes the melody, giving the track a relentless groove with major peak-time appeal.

“Muechner Freiheit” surprises with its minimalist ambiental approach, as looped piano chords create a sense of celestial atmosphere. The track is stripped back and hypnotic, adding to its sense of airiness. “Schwabing” combines the complementary essences of the past two original tracks, fusing an atmospheric ambiance with a steady, energetic percussion. Hazy vocals increase the oneiric sensation, anticipating the uplifting and elating breakdown. The final track is a robust cut that's full of tension and brooding darkness. Whirring synths and electronic squelches intertwine with ghastly vocals, amping up the murky factor.“Omen” showcases an elegant exercise in layering unusual textures, and the perfect track to finish off the release.

Out with their third EP of 2016, this August Monkey Safari will release 'Boris,' with remixes by Guy Mantzur and Victor Ruiz, showing the world once again that these guys aren't messing around. 'Boris' is the follow up to their successful mega-EP, 'Bernstein,' released in June, with remixes by John Digweed & Nick Muir and UNER. Its the modern times which makes it happen when you never met each other, but now you have a common release. Thats the story how Rafael Cerato and Marc DePulse met. Simply chatting about music and kidding: 'Why dont we make some music together?'. Exchanging ideas, project files and inspiration. And its quite the middle of both artists qualitys: Marcs melancholic harmonies, Rafaels peaktime beats. 

So 'AGORA' was born as the first of totally 5 tracks both guys produced together. Two interpretations wanted, the guys invited Denmarks rising star PETE OAK and Germanys newcomer HIDDEN EMPIRE who both did it their way. And they did it really fantastic!

Rostock's Carlo Ruetz, who many will known from his outings on Minus, SCI-TEC and ELEVATE, joins Matador's RUKUS crew with a brand new four tracker in 'Creatures'. Thomas Schumacher is finally back on Noir Music with another outstanding 2- tracker.
Over the years me and Thomas have become great friends as we click on so many levels and share the same taste in dark, melancholic and emotional music. I have been a big fan of Thomas' music for many years and i am still a great supporter of his productions today so obviously i am honored to release his music on my label again.
On these 2 tracks Thomas has recorded 2 authentic and raw tracks with a no holding back, zero bulls*** attitude. You can hear the "no formular" approach on both and i love that. We had an honest and creative back and forth A&R process on both tracks before and after testing them in the clubs and this has given both a unique and fresh techno sound.
