The calming quality of this music will add a soothing space to your life and creativity. “Vajra Mind” features some never before released tracks and alternate versions of classic tunes, and collects the various ambient tracks featured in the Desert Trax catalog from 2001 to 2015 into one cohesive offering. This music is medicine.

The opener is taken from a forthcoming reissue on Cocktail d'Amore Music of 1990's blissed out ambience from ukrainian multimedia artist Iury Lech, follow by super talented tokyo-peach-girl Powder who is working on an upcoming release for our label, then the wild japanese jazz pianist Fumio Itabashi with a composition from his '79 album called Nature, more avant-prog music from a couple of bands associated with the Canterbury scene, the beauty of tamami koyake and her flute on a fusion song from '82, the italian duo Nu Guinea who experimented with legendary nigerian drummer Tony Allen, then the child voice of Francis The Great on the hyper hypnotic afro-funk Look Up In The Sky and to finish the one and only Nina Simone remixed by the one and only Masters At Work.

This piece is called "In the depths of night" because that is when it was recorded, in the intimacy of my home after busking for several hours in the City of Melbourne. The quiet of my home, in contrast to the noise of the street, enables me to pursue a vocal purity of tone and expression not possible amidst the roar of motorcycles, the clang of trams and blare of fire engines. I like the street: it brings out different qualities, but I need the balance.
