Following two successful EPs finally comes the long awaited release of Stereoclip's first album. Since his first EP, 'It's About the Time' released on Délicieuse Records, media outlets across Europe haven't been shy to show their support. Following several features on top chart compilations released by French heavy weights like Wagram and Universal, Max came into high demand and was soon sent to tour through France and Belgium to showcase his music.

Getting back from this first experience, and following a self released second EP, Max decided to take his music in another direction while focusing on variating his instrumentals and at a set harmony. Many of his musician friends contributed to 'Hometown', infusing diverse influences from D&B to deep Berlin electronic music, as well as pop and rock n’ roll samples. For such an eclectic mix the result was surprisingly refreshing. Due to such an immaculate execution did the fusion of sounds mesh organically.

What brings a mere coherence to his past discography and recent album is Stereoclip's noticeable hunt for new soundscapes. He bridges the gap between unique concepts and varying instrumentals to create a solid and underlying sound identity.

In these fastmoving times, where many acts come and go in the space of a few blog posts, it's becoming harder and harder to find artists with true staying power. Anu Pillai aka Freeform Five is one of those rare artists. Following an impressive series of originals & remixes and productions for artists like Ladyhawke, Santigold, Lana Del Rey and Little Boots, he returned to the scene with ‘Weltareh’, a collaboration with Gambian griot and master musician Juldeh Camara. On ‘Leviathan’ Freeform Five teams up with the legendary Róisín Murphy for an exercise in irresistible vocal power and anthemic, feel good appeal. Tom Trago delivers an incarnation of ‘Leviathan’ that highlights the shimmering synths and melodies and puts the funk edge and drum beats centre stage. Cage & Aviary provide a slice of dirty electro tech in their remix teeming with solid claps and bleeps and FX.

One of the youngest DJs on the Belgian DJ circuit, Maxime Firket aka Compuphonic soon moved onto the international scene with a release on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings. Further releases came on other highly acclaimed labels including Get Physical, Modular, Darkroom Dubs, Systematic Recordings, 2020 Vision and Parquet Recordings. On his ‘Leviathan’ remix, Compuphonic injects a playful bounce into the soaring sonics of the original melody.

South London based Cage & Aviary provide a slice of dirty electro tech in their remix teeming with solid claps and bleeps and FX. The duo started off with releases on the much acclaimed Dissident Distribution and have since appeared on DFA, Tiny Sticks, Astro Lab and Prins Thomas' Internasjonal label. They also run their own label The Walls Have Ears. 

Tom Trago delivers two incarnations of ‘Leviathan’ firstly a dub version that highlights the shimmering synths and melodies and puts the funk edge and drum beats centre stage. His remix closing the package reintroduces Róisín’s unforgettable voice. Tom Trago is one of the Netherland’s finest producers and is the most prominent artist on Amsterdam institution Rush Hour Recordings, his third album came out on the label October last year and he also curates the offshoot label series Voyage Direct.

Davide Squillace’s new This and That imprint will launch with a three track twelve inch entitled ‘Manifesto.’ The EP sees the label delivering two brand new productions from the This and That boss himself in addition to a collaboration between Davide and Mexican singer, Alex Nazar. The three tracks explore the kind of genre-defying, blend of club atmospheres and emotions that This and That will stand for. This and That Lab will combine music, art and culture to provide a platform for like-minded artists to develop a host of creative projects. The first outlet of the Lab will be music and it is with ‘Manifesto’ that we welcome you to This and That.

‘Pieces of You’ is a bass-driven tech-house cut that comes with plenty of murky atmospherics. Deftly whispered vocals waft over a dense bottom end whilst synth swabs and FX create an unfamiliar but intoxicating soundscape. On the flip, Davide enlists the services of Alex Nazar, the Mexican born but LA based singer for rock band, Delta Wave. Showcasing the pair’s more pop-influenced sensibilities, the track is stripped back, allowing the vocal to take the lead over the underlying deep and rolling bassline. A host of curious sounds and tones in the background inject further personality into what is another inimitable track from the EP. ‘Morning Smile’ is the most laidback of the three, opening amid chiming melodies and a punchy beat. Proving Davide’s skills as a composer, the track builds with a subtle patience towards the colourful yet powerful sound that fills the entire track.

The artwork for the first single is provided by pioneering Italian artist Piero Golia. Having worked across a number of platforms throughout a revered career, Piero Golia drew This and That towards his work with a natural tendency towards flair and audacity. Having previously smashed a full-size passenger bus to fit into a fair booth in addition to producing a shiny metal real size unicorn from the leftovers of his destroyed car, the artist is someone who has never adhered to convention. SMFM stands for 'Supplying Mirages For Mankind' , it is a dance music&#8232;project between global superstar Fab Morvan (Milli Vanilli) and Dutch dj/producer Sean McCaff. Morvan has re-connected with the dance music world after living in Holland and collaborating with DJ/producers such as Don Diablo, Muzikjunki & Peter Gelderblom to name a small few while DJ Sean McCaff has been a firm fixture throughout New York, Ibiza and the Netherlands since 1987. This release has a very particular flavour and it is composed of two tracks that will also be playlisted in Hernan Cattaneo's new compilation for Renaissance.The first track of the EP is a remix signed by one of the most talented producers of the global electronic scene, a name that has been part of the Sudbeat family since its dawn and that boasts releases on the best labels out there: the Tel Aviv born Guy J. 'Rise Of Angel' is the brand new single from Luciano, and the first single to be taken from his forthcoming album, due in 2013.  However, for the many thousands of dedicated music fans who have made the pilgrimage to Luciano's hugely successful parties this Summer in Ibiza (the weekly Ushuaia sessions and Vagabundos at Pacha), or the many Cadenza parties around Europe and North America, 'Rise Of Angel' has already become the signature tune and musical hi-light in Luciano's sets, making its release a highly anticipated moment for the Cadenza faithful.

Clocking in at over 15 minutes, 'Rise Of Angel' is an epic slice of modern electronic dance music, the simply Balearic, synth and piano driven hook gently builds and teases with cinematic intent, the light percussion and organic beats working the old Luciano magic, it's no wonder that 'Rise Of Angel' has become one of the most talked about tracks of the Ibiza season this year.

For the remixes, Luciano has kept it in the family, enlisting the duties of fellow Cadenza artists Mirko Loko, UNER and Andrea Oliva to all lend their unique production styles to a solid set of reinterpretations.  The vinyl 12" is coupled with Mirko Loko's pulsating robotic workout, adding a more beats driven take on Luciano's original, and delving into the bass for a heavyweight techno flecked remix.

And bolstering the digital package, UNER weighs in with a dubbed out, rolling drum version, using the vocal FX to support the groove whilst the pianos ride over the mix, and Andrea Oliva goes straight for the 4/4 jugular with a remix that builds solid tribal beats to a crescendo, adding a new dimension to the Original with a choice vocal section.

'Rise Of Angel' will be Luciano's first release on his own Cadenza label since 2010's Lucien-N-Luciano's 'Cuidad De Luz' EP, and marks the start of another big chapter in his career, having spent the last couple of years building a passionate audience through hundreds of DJ performances around the world, the Vagabundos events and collaborating musically with artists such as Pharrrell (Neptunes) and Lenny Kravitz.  His forthcoming album will be his second full length collection (following 2009's ‘Tribute To The Sun’), and his label, Cadenza Records, will celebrate its 10th anniversary, so the future certainly looks bright for the Chilean producer and DJ.
