Milano's Uabos and Slow Motion Records member Andrea Tempo join forces for a thunderous EP combining their powerful signature sounds. The aptly named 'Blue Tornado' slings this release into action with glistening arpeggios and a captivating, sweeping synth line. Their re-imagining of the infectious sensibilities of 1980's Italo Disco can be heard throughout the release with nods to electro in 'Paura Nera'.

The anthemic acid-led 'Visione Lontana' ties ethereal elements into the EP, with a hazy yet euphoric lead. Fellow Slow Motion affiliates Armonics and Alteri provide elevating remixes. Alteri maintains the original's chiming allure and lowers the tempo with a rolling bassline that flows into the synth-wave realm. Armonics brings his steady, percussive solidity to the remix re-harmonising the lead to sit within his unmistakable arcane synth textures.

Sordid Sound System made a storming entrance on Special place by remixing Treasure Island's track 'No Loss'. He returns to the label with his own productions, showing his mastery in the assembly of sonic atmospheres. Every element seems to fall right into place, every sound triggers yet another emotion.

This EP is the closest that Sordid has come to flirting with the 1980s. Throughout its duration, you can hear the sonic imprint of early 80s neo-noir cinema such as Bladerunner, Scarface, and Escape From New York.

'The Great Psychic Outdoors' is a masterpiece imbued with the DNA of the bastard lovechild of John Carpenter and The Cure. One of those tracks you could play on a tape loop for hours. Because it feels intriguing and frightening, but draws you in. Just like hiding away in a tree house and watching the world from above on a rainy day.

'I Dream Of Electric Sheep' delivers Sordid's so-called 'motorik dub', one foot in disco, one foot in the Caribbean, with a nod to Compass Point classics by the likes of Talking Heads and Grace Jones. Like the rest of this EP, these qualitative sounds called for a stellar remixer. With close to a hundred remixes under the belt for artists ranging from Radiohead to Isolée or Romanthony and a massive catalogue of productions that dared to leave dance music for ambient sonic explorations, Ripperton was the perfect pick.

His reimagining of 'I Dream of Electric Sheep' transports us into daring dreamlike realms of rhythmic exploration, Deckard's beat-up Spinner escapes the smog of the dystopian city for the clouds high above.

And to close us out with a vital burst of cracked up mechanical energy, 'David, I'm Just A Curious Soul' brings searing phantasmagorical acid-house to the imaginary dancefloor of a late 80s warehouse party on the lower East side of New York.

Amplio Espectro is a Buenos Aires-based label curated by Carolina Stegmayer and Ismael Pinkler, whose entanglement of their names and personal/professional lives gave birth to the duo Carisma. They successfully amassed a true international dream team of collaborators for their forthcoming release: Cornelius Doctor (France), Andrea Paz (Chile), Bryan Kessler (Germany), Aristidez (Peru), Kodemul (Mexico) and Kamila Govorcin (Chile), each one of them taking us on a remix trip adding their hyper-personal touches to two Carisma's tracks: “En tus Sueños” and “Fracciones”.

The track we chose to premiere brings Aristidez delivering a trippy and groovy interpretation of “Fracciones”. The Peruvian artist, who rocked the world with his 2018 release on the almighty Calypso Records, flirts this time with percussive breakbeats and melodic synth layers, providing a cosmic atmosphere, but with his traditional Latin sonority. The result: A curious concoction that enriches the release of the charismatic Argentinian duo.
