Making a clean break with the poisonous digital dubstep rhythms in his first EP, Dogboy’s Basement To The Attic is an fearless musical odyssey where the confines of this world end in intriguing organic sounds. In a way that Wishmountain ou Burnt Friedman would, Dogboy scrutinizes the boundaries between experimentation and pure dance music. Using recordings made in the different rooms of his family home, the four tracks on the EP start with laying down the subtitle emotional cool yet wobbly riddim card on the table, before gradually rising the subs and the pressure into a rave like burst of pride. Futuristic, organic, progressive and utterly baffling, what makes Basement To The Attic so successful is it’s purely unique.
