THORSTEN HAMMER
Thorsten Hammer is a house artist from Karlsruhe, Germany. Much like his birth region Thorsten’s music and performances transport listeners to picturesque places. This is achieved through Thorsten’s unique journey, with his life experiences truly present in the music he makes and plays.

From the day Thorsten was born, he had music in his veins, learning the drums very early on and not long after discovering pioneers of the early electronic music scene Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. This inspired Thorsten, he was quick to learn DJing on vinyl and began to build a name for himself as a resident DJ playing at renowned venues Loft Club, MWS, Nightmare/Sinus, Stockwerk, U63011 Frankfurt to further afield including Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, Ibiza, Lison, Sofia and Stuttgart.

During this time Thorsten was hard at work developing his sound, experimenting and pushing the boundaries to create music that evokes feeling and tells his life stories. This has resulted in releases on highly esteemed labels across the house spectrum Bar 25, Parquet, Frequenza and Ballroom.

This has led to recognition from his musical peers with support from  Steve Bug, Denney, Huxley. Davide Squillace, Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Markus Homm, Matthias Tanzmann, Nicole Moudaber, Osunlade, Paco Osuna, Pig & Dan, Roger Sanchez, Sam Divine, SiS, Solomun, Timo Maas, UMEK with the list constantly growing.

His ability to connect with listeners and fans on dancefloors all over the world has resulted in Thorsten breaching the top 10 on iTunes dance charts in Africa, Germany and Slovakia and exceeding 100K streams on Spotify alone. Arguably his biggest tracks to date were Jakuma and Hamato on his EP for Sirin Sounds, reaching number five and number eight respectively in the iTunes chart as well as breaking into the Beatport top 20 in Afro House. Demonstrating the rapidly increasing demand for Thorsten’s music.

Thorsten is entering the next chapter of his encapsulating journey, which will see him release with legendary labels Mobilee and Pokerflat Recordings.

With new releases slated for the year ahead, Thorsten solidifies his position as a formidable force in the electronic music scene, showcasing his unwavering passion and dedication to his craft.

ABOUT COPYRIDER (DEUTSCH)
Der Charakter eines Menschen ist meist geprägt von Erlebnissen, Eindrücken und Erfahrung. Genau diese Außeneinwirkungen machen ihn zu dem was er ist. In der Musik ist das nicht anders. Auch hier durchlebt man verschiedene Phasen und entwickelt sich stetig weiter. Diese Entwicklung bzw. das Ergebnis bezeichnen wir dann als den sogenannten eigenen Charakter oder Stil. Der Mannheimer DJ und Produzent COPYRIDER hat ihn, diesen eigenen Touch, das gewisse Etwas, das was ihn als Künstler von anderen unterscheidet. Geprägt von kratzigen Samplebeats der 90er HipHop-Kultur, ist COPYRIDER ebenso in der Housemusik bewandert und kann diese schon lange als seinen Heimathafen bezeichnen. Seine Sets sind geprägt von groovigen Beats und drückenden Bässen, aufgelockert durch die richtige Prise Harmonie. Er versteht es, teils poppige Melodien mit technoiden Elementen zu kombinieren und erzeugt so einen treibenden Mix der Platz zum träumen lässt. Sowohl in seiner Heimatstadt Mannheim als auch über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus, hat COPYRIDER inzwischen einen Namen den die Menschen kennen. Ob durch seine Partyreihe „Oh Captain My Captain“, die jeden Sommer begeisterte Raver aufs Boot zieht um dort den Neckar entlang Richtung Sonnenuntergang zu schippern oder durch seine Gastauftritte in Clubs wie dem Loft Club, Soho Mannheim, Ozon Pforzheim, Zenith München, Bukowski Heilbronn oder dem Berliner Postbahnhof - COPYRIDER lebt und liebt die Musik.
Neben dem DJ-Dasein beschäftigt sich der Künstler auch mit eigenen Produktionen - und das mit Erfolg. Sein 2017 auf „Beans & Bacon“ erschienener Track „Amsel“ schaffte es nicht nur in die Beatport Deep House Top 100, sondern wurde auch von „Maya Jane Coles“ und „Marc DePuls“ in deren Charts supported. Seine aktuelle auf „Ametist Records“ erschienene „Journey EP“ feierte zudem gleich zwei Premieren. Zum einen auf dem schwedischen Blog „Deep House Sweden“ und zum anderen auf der belgischen Plattform „Tanzgemeinschaft“. Auch mit diesem Release schaffte es der DJ und Produzent erneut in die Beatport Top 100. Diesmal in der Rubrik House. Für COPYRIDER ist Musik mehr als einfach nur Unterhaltung. Für ihn ist es Lebensenergie und Passion, Ausgleich sowie Antrieb, ein heimisches Gefühl und zugleich der Drang Neues zu entdecken.
