Eric Sneo - Metanoia (Re-touch) [Tronic]

Tripmastaz steps up to throw down his third release for DJ Sneak’s I'm A House Gangster label. Following two full original EPs, the Russian House music producer calls on friends Carlo Lio and Bebadim to remix his latest single TomzWork.

An influential player in House circles since the late 90's, Tripmastaz' music can be found on top labels including Be As One, Moon Harbour, Cecille, Magnetic and his own Plant 74 imprint - all solid proponents of the House Gangster culture.

As the title suggests, TomzWork sees Tripmastaz getting to work on the tom-tom drums, providing a jacking, tribal groove underpinning an incessant, looping, deconstructed vocal sample. Carlo Lio brings a heavier feel with stomping beats and a dirty groove, while Bebadim adds some swing and a bumping bass line to his relentlessly driving remix.

Tripmastaz explains the story behind TomzWork, “The Original version was produced around 2006 during the really short live late-night session when I was f**ing around with my vocal sample. Somehow the finished version dropped to the bottom of my unlimited beat stash! :) 2012 was the year when I showed it to Sneak. Another year and a half passed by and next thing I know Sneak is loving it and The Martinez Brothers are playing it on Boileroom TV. Shouts to Carlo Lio for a tasty fat remix and I had to get my boy Bebadim on board with his version too!”

Sidney Charles & Santé have teamed up again to forge the 'Forever EP’ on Hot Creations with Russ Yallop on remix duty. Those that have witnessed their epic sets playing together will know the vibrant energy they create and this latest offering stands stead to them.

The title track ‘Forever’ uses dynamic claps, an indelible beat and a simple but effective vocal that ties all the elements together. With a playful production technique at its heart, this is a cut made for summertime. Things get a little darker with ‘Mogli’, morphing high-pitched, glitchy sounds alongside a hissing beat. On the flip side, Russ Yallop remixes ‘Forever’ to make the whole track bounce with a heavy and thick bassline.

Hamburg-born Sidney Charles has only been releasing music for four years but has already had a string of successes on labels such as 8bit, Moda Black, AVOTRE and VIVa. Berlin-based Santé is also involved with all areas of music as he DJ’s, produces, and is building on his own record label AVOTRE. Sidney Charles & Santé have previously released on Hot Creations with ‘All Night Long’ on the ‘Hot Summer Jams’ album.

Russ Yallop is a key member of the underground house scene and  is no stranger to Hot Creations; he has previously released ‘Traffic’ and ‘System Crank’ with them, whist also regularly DJing at their worldwide events. He is also an established member of the Crosstown Rebels family after first releasing with them in 2010.

After smashing onto the scene on Onefold Digital late last year, southern talent ALBT is back with this relentlessly danceable release, Tricks and Trinkets, complete with the skills of K & K on the remix.

'The Music' is the first of two original mixes on the EP from the Brighton producer, an eclectic offering built from heavy duty beats and intricate, jittering rhythms. A massive track with plenty of big room appeal, and the commanding vocal hook, 'always remember the music', is certainly one we can get on board with.

Rounding off the release is London duo K & K giving us a progressive, beat-driven interpretation of 'Tricks and Trinkets'. The pair show off their skills behind the mixing deck, chopping and looping the vocals until they're no more than percussive additions to the melody, an impressive feat. Definitely an EP to get excited about.
