Glasgow born producer and DJ Gary Beck has long been established as a primary figure in techno. Known and respected for his unique sound, he has gained support from the best names in the business and released music on some of the genre's leading labels, including institutions such as Soma, Cocoon & Drumcode, his own BEK Audio imprint and - most recently - Patrick Topping’s Trick label. 


With a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and two Boiler Room sessions under his belt, as well as featured music on BBC 1 Drama ‘Stonemouth' and numerous collaborations with artists like MR. G, GreenVelvet, Debra Debs, Mark Broom and Speedy J, Gary has been an undeniably formidable force since hitting the scene in 2007.


His seminal 2012 debut album 'Bring a Friend', was championed by the legendary Soma Records label, marking their 100th release. The years that followed left a kaleidoscopic trail of releases spanning a multitude of studio skills, influences, styles and aliases including the house driven grooves of Tanera; to the relentlessly harder sounds of Sosak. Gary’s second full length album under his own name 'Dal Riata' dropped in November 2019, followed by a series of incredible releases including this year’s Submarine and Supervan EPs - with even more to come. 


Gary’s renowned for his incendiary live sets, destroying dancefloors across the globe including Tokyo’s Womb, Fabric London, Awakenings, T in the Park, Spazio in Rome, Output NYC, Printworks, and Timewarp, to name a few. On top of a formidable touring schedule, Beck heads up BEK Audio, an imprint which has quickly become one of the most revered techno labels on the scene. Now approaching its 52nd release, the label boasts an impressive roster of artists including Floorplan, Mark Broom, Slam, DJ Rush & Ritzi Lee.

This week´s #AMFM is the third hour of the set that I played at Pacha Barcelona on September 10th, a Sunday night. Of what I heard, the busiest Sunday ever so far at Pacha Barcelona. Well, let´s not gimme the whole credit for that (although my DJ ego would love that), there also was a public bank holiday on Monday … still - what a crowd and what a vibe! @flug played a great opening set and I think I could have gone on for hours and hours to be honest. Anyways, in the end it was a 4,5h set and you will be able to relive it within these 4 weeks now. Barcelona rocks! Muchas Gracias!

We go back in time for 10 years, to a well known club in Berlin, where I celebrated the 10 Years Anniversary of my label CLR, and guess what - also played for 10 hours. Can´t believe that this is already 10 years ago really. Still kind of remember that night/day very well, especially the magic moments during the party and also especially at the end, when I played that DJ Hell track. With me on that night playing were Traversable Wormhole, @sanhajimastering Brian Sanhaji, @tommyfourseven_47 and @monoloc_official  until I finished off the night/day with my closing set. These are memories that are ingrained in my brain and I surely hope we can soon do this again. So this week it´s the fifth hour of this set. All the rest will be coming on a weekly basis, as you all know by now I guess.
