Recording notes:
 Kick: Sennheisser MD-421 mic, Toft ATB channel preamp with EQ, Urei 1176-LN limiter, 
Snare: Shure SM-57 mic, Toft ATB channel preamp with EQ, Urei LA-4 Blackface limiter tried but was distorted, switched to dbx 903. 
Drum top/side: Oktava Mk12s with pads (90 degree 'Glyn Johns' setup) - Toft ATB channel preamps with EQ, Universal (Urei) 2-1176 stereo limiter, linked. Stick bass: Countryman FET-80 DI, Toft ATB channel preamp with EQ, dbx 903 compressor. 
Stick high: Behringer DI, Toft ATB channel preamp with EQ, dbx 903 compressor. 
Stick synth: Mackie 1202VLZ mixer (combined with Yamaha keyboard), Toft ATB channel preamps with EQ. 
Guitar: Mackie 1202VLZ mixer, Toft ATB channel preamps with EQ.

Recorded via channel mic preamps/EQs, channel direct out via external processing where applicable, to Apogee and Avid converters to Pro Tools HDX v12.7 24 bit 48kHz.

Analog mix 1031 notes: 
Mixed on Toft ATB-24 console with live fader rides, no automation, all channels calibrated with -20dBFS tone from PT outputs, TC Finalizer gain reduction meters used to gauge drive level.
Kick: dbx 902 gate, Urei 1176 limiter, channel EQ
 Snare: dbx 902 gate, Urei LA-4 limiter channel EQ
 Overheads: Chanel EQ 
Drum reverb: Lexicon PCM-70 hardware plate reverb from Aux 2 (mostly snare). 
Guitar: Multed to hardware Eventide H3000 ("string modeler" pitch reverb) and hardware Orban 111B spring reverb, both efx 2-in-2-out returned to console channels and ridden as needed for wetter/drier sections.
 Stick Lo: UA 1176 plug in limiter, channel EQ,
 Stick Hi: UA 1176 plug in limiter, SansAmp harmonics plug in,  
Stick hi efx: Eventide H949 hardware harmonizers set to micropitch up-down, small delays, panned hard L-R, sent from aux 3.  
Stick synth: Channel EQ 
Stick overall: Yamaha SPX-1000 hardware ‘plate’ reverb sent from Aux 4.

 Entire mix returned to Pro Tools via Apogee Rosetta 800, TC Finalizer inserted (AES send-return) in record path, BBE 702 and Aphex 9251 exciters (analog send-return via Apogee 800 I/O)inserted after TCF. Recorded to stereo Pro Tools track. Normalized after recording. Exported as 320k/s .mp3

Analog mix 1032 notes:
Same as 1031 except changed order of analog mix processing to BBE>Aphex, with Aphex mix pots reduced to 11:00 from 2:00.  Mix 1031 sounded a bit thin, especially the snare.  Analog mix master fader reduced to -5dB reducing Finalizer and BBE>Aphex drive, PROC PT fader (record level) increased to +6.5dB, mix track output fader reduced to -10dB to avoid overdriving monitor return path.  Snare reverb shortened too.
