 Manifestationen können in der Öffentlichkeit geschehen (indem Menschen anderen Menschen Dinge publik machen, zum Beispiel in Form eines Manifests), in der Religion (Wunder, Inkarnation) oder in der Medizin (hier kann sich beispielsweise ein Verdacht oder eine Vermutung manifestieren, auch in Form eines Symptoms).

 Andererseits wird auch ein Erscheinungsbild als Manifestation bezeichnet, also eine Ausdrucksform des Geistigen in Form von Materie (siehe auch Avatar).
