CHP Mix Sessions


Joe Raico has been on the cutting edge of dance music since his teens. His preference for vinyl and the ability to mix fluidly was instilled at an early age. Music has been a symbiotic part of his life, whether it be clubbing around the globe or laying down seamless mixes behind the decks.

Initially stimulated by artists such as the Crystal Method, Hybrid and DJ Icey he would later turn his attention towards house music inspired by the likes of Sasha and Digweed.

His music philosophy is sophisticated while remaining simple. He plays the crowd to the style or genre of the night. Whether he is opening, headlining or closing a show- Raico believes the night is a journey that each DJ needs to build on until the mixer is off.

Addicted-2-Bass / Episode 030 / Cyborg Rhetoric / 13.10.2024

Florida-based electro producer, DJ and label owner Grow (Adam Wilson) established CHP Recordings in 2007 with his debut vinyl release “Electronik Milk” which was very well received by the electro community. 

Since then, CHP has continued producing cutting-edge electro music known for breaking the rules of tradition and boasting creative ventures by all of the artists who have released under them. 

Over time, CHP has become a hub for cutting-edge electro music, known for defying tradition and nurturing boundary-pushing talents such as Fleck ESC, Ohverclock (Kounterakt of Code Rising and Grow’s band), Pip Williams (London Modular Alliance), and more.

Over the past two years, Dirtybird recording artist Mark Starr has taken on the role of label manager, playing a pivotal role in shaping the label’s sound and producing key releases. 
Cyborg Rhetoric has also joined forces with Grow as CTO and is releasing frequent originals and remixes on CHP that have been making a lot of noise in the scene. 

There are no signs of slowing down for CHP Recordings and plenty of new releases are in the works for the near future!

Sean Kosa is alive and well and living in Montreal. Born in Toronto but having lived in Central Asia for a large part of the last 20 years, his music is influenced by not only the sounds of the roots of electronic music and it's futurist aesthetic, but also the paradox between the rural beauty and the brutalism of post-Soviet Asia which he experienced while living there.
He has been performing, DJing and releasing music for over 30 years involved in various musical projects. In 2022 he launched his own imprint 'Facecontrol Audio Industries' with a mandate to explore both the brutal and the melodic, a nod to the listener, and the dancefloor. 2025 is going to be a big year for Facecontrol with 2 remix EPs slated, an outstanding debut EP by Petey Pile, and of course new music by Sean Kosa.

D.Vices is a project of Jack Coleman, a DJ, producer, event organizer and live performer based in Portland, Oregon. D.Vices builds on Jack’s 25-year immersion in rave and dance music culture to create a distinctive blend of raw rhythmic electro, breaks, acid and bass. Since launching the project in 2021, he’s released a series of well-received EPs on Particle Music, Alien Breakdance, ZEN DNA, Woodwork Recordings, and his own label, SubSensory Recordings.

Andre Elektro Morales is a Florida-based DJ with over 30 years in the game, known for his deep crates, precision mixing, and unapologetic passion for the music. He came up at the legendary Painted Puppy record store, working alongside and learning from Florida breakbeat legend Rick West, with key mentorship from B-Nice of Funklab and Adam Grow of Ohverclock and CHP Recordings Ltd. A proud member of Tampa’s own Krimefyter hip hop crew, Andre was part of a rare and humbling moment: a guest mix for the late, great Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1. For Elektro, this journey has never been about chasing clout—it’s about paying respect to those who came before, repping the ones who stand for the real, and letting the music do what it was always meant to do: move people.

CHP Mix Sessions [039] - Alavux

This collaboration has its roots all the way back in 2020, when the Desmond crew and DANN first started working together. What began as production work for others quickly evolved into a shared creative journey—fueled by friendship and a mutual love for music.

In November 2024 DANN hosted a writing camp on Ibiza, inviting several talented producers—including Desmond to create freely and experiment. During the very first session “everybody” was born. From the moment the track came together they knew it had something special.
Blending classic UK Garage grooves with a funky rhythm and bass-heavy drive, “everybody” hits hard in the club, but still feels right at home through your headphones. The catchy vocal gives it a familiar / hooky feel—striking the perfect balance between energy and emotion.

The track has already caught the attention of key names in the scene, including Saint Ludo, and now after some fine-tuning it’s finally ready to be shared with the world!
