Between The Waves [downtempo / electronica mix: 2013]

This set was a cathartic release for me after a weekend of facing and tackling my ego. There were many times during the set where I was crying - not out of joy or sadness, but pure relief and release of everything worked up inside of me. This was performed after a group breath work ceremony, which I had to cut my time in short to get in the headspace for this set. But throughout my playing, I was finding myself coming back to my breath - breathing in and out in tune with the music.

I spent around an hour in the forest alone, getting into this incredible meditative mindset and preparing the space for the vibe I wanted to curate. Everything came to fruition perfectly. I fed off of the crowd - starting a bit darker and ending with some more uplifting house.

This set is also a story - from the arpeggios, the lyrics, the kicks, the moments of silence before a drop. It all comes together perfectly for my story. My story of self-growth, looking inward, and overcoming fears, internal monologues, and self-doubt.
