Dancy, enjoyable, cheerful and very, very fresh. This year we have to say thanks to Purple Disco Machine and Teenage Mutants for giving us this outstanding summery track. Damn that's a happy song! Say what you like about Marco 'Tensnake' Niemerski, but the boy certainly knows how to craft hook-laden dancefloor bangers. Since striking gold with the ubiquitous "Coma Cat", the German producer has laid down all manner of hands-in-the-air remixes - most boasting a delightful blend of old skool house flava and electronic disco sassiness. "Something About You" continues this theme, mixing 80s Fairlight stabs, sparkling piano riffs and hooky vocal samples with a chunky retro-house groove to impressive effect. Simian Mobile Disco man Jas Shaw offers a similarly acid house/Inner City-themed remake, whilst bonus cut "Congolal" slows the pace in a Balearic house style. Big!

The ever excellent MOTHER RECORDINGS serves up more club gold, this time from MARTIN WASLEWSKI. His CLOSER release features two tight tacks that prove he has a lush sense of house groove.
Waslewski is a German who grew up on hip hop and now having turned to house finds himself at home under the roof of labels such as Hommage, Monaberry and Heulsuse. All these playgrounds offer him a deserved platform where he never fails to come up with the goods, as is the case again here.

Up first here is CLOSER, six minutes of deep, feel good house music with romantic vocals and colourful chords. The beats are lazy and well swung and this one is perfect for summer parties and terraces this year. On the flip, COME TO ME is stripped back and more driving, with a tech edge to the beats. There is more great melody though, and some smeared synths that add a sense of scale and weight.

I love this tune from Emil Berliner, such as I love all of his tunes! Emil is one of the most outstanding producer from Austria with his very own unique style and I believe his carrer that has just started will shine very bright! So it definitely is an honor for me completing this release of him with a little remix I did! That remix was done on a peaceful flight to Ibiza, I was motivated from the positive vibes of the island and the only person awake on the jet was Jumper - which I had to notice in the remix title;)
