The guest mix in the second hour is by Haptic who is from Newcastle, Australia. He’s collaborated with many artists such as Jamie Jones, Einmusik, Darlyn Vlys and Marc De Pulse. His own tracks have been remixed by the likes of Mind Against. Despite this he prefers to keep a low profile, working mostly in private from his home studio and we are really fortunate to have this mix from him.

What and who is A Darker Wave?
We are a duo (jacki-e & p-mac) who present A Darker Wave every week only on NLive Radio, Circl8 Radio, Echo Radio & Chill Lover Radio. We put the show together in our home studio. The show is streamed worldwide on the internet. Each show is posted on our Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Hearthis.at, Podbean and You Tube pages once it has been streamed and presents the best in new techno releases.
We also play gigs as A Darker Wave and we have played at events in Germany and all over the UK.
The music we play is techno, tech house, deep house and anything else we like enough to include in the show.
Each show is 2 hours long. In the first hour we go into the mix with our featured EP of the week and the best of the new releases.
In the second hour we invite new and upcoming DJs to come onto the show and do a guest mix.

Why are you called A Darker Wave?
Dark Wave was first used in the 1980s to describe a dark and melancholy variant of new wave and post-punk music and was first applied to UK musicians such as Bauhaus, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Anne Clark. It was also used to describe artists who combined music with performance art, such as Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, who challenged and explored the darker and obsessive sides of the human condition.

A lot of techno takes its spirit and ethos from this music, Listen to Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire and you can hear the industrial sounds which are a staple of techno music today.

Techno is the outsider of electronic dance music, the punk of today's modern music scene. As Dave Clarke said in an interview with Mixmag, " Techno is edgy. Techno will challenge you......it's the real dark art."

Our radio show, in presenting the best in underground techno and deep house music, and in giving an opportunity for new, up and coming DJ's and producers, is providing an outlet for new techno, which is best described as being the new wave of modern dance music.

Not just a new wave, but with it's incessant bass rumblings, synthesiser drones, pounding drums, melodic top notes and eerie, distorted vocal samples, techno, in all its forms, is a backdrop to and a critique of our post-industrial, consumerist society, one in which our actions are observed 24/7, our democratic freedoms are threatened by our very own governments and our rights to do, think and act as we please are under ever increasing scrutiny. Techno really is A Darker Wave.

When we were listening to music in the 60’s and 70’s, before the electronic tentacles of technology infiltrated the world, we often thought, whilst listening to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Captain Beefhart, New York Dolls and Roxy Music, where would music go to in the future? It could never be what was being portrayed in the science fiction movies of the time. Now we know. It can be anything. When we have a recording studio in our own home which is more powerful and versatile than anything available back then, we now know music can be anything and go anywhere. It is only the spark of our imaginations, or lack of it, that holds us back. On our laptop computers we have the capabilities that many artists back then would have given their right arms for. It’s for the uniqueness of the artist to express themselves to be able to stand out from the deluge of music available. Finding those gems is the modern day equivalent of crate digging and when you do, it makes it all worthwhile. Long live music!!!!

Andres Cetre - Aka The Reactor - Dj y productor de la escena Cali, quien maneja una estructura en sus sets basada en la raíz techno underground sin olvidar el groove que caracteriza a los sonidos electrónicos de su lugar de origen. Tuvo sus inicios como asistente a los clubes de su ciudad natal. fue influenciado por artistas como Joy Kitikonti, Armand Van Helden, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna y Joseph Capriati. Paso de ser el DJ empírico que tocaba en fiestas de amigos, A entrar en una escena local con DJs y productores de la zona. esto dio lugar a su interés por la producción musical donde tuvo una evolución y contacto con la música electrónica contemporánea. Edwardteach is a DJ, producer, and live performer with over 25 years of experience in the global electronic music scene. Renowned for his ability to craft immersive sonic journeys, he has carved out a unique niche defined by dark, melodic, and hypnotic elements, all anchored by a distinctive percussive foundation.
From his early days on the radio at just 13 years old, Edwardteach embarked on a steady ascent, performing at iconic clubs, raves, and festivals across Spain, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Sharing stages with some of the most respected names in the industry, he has become synonymous with pushing boundaries and redefining the club experience.
One of his strongest trademarks is his innovative live approach. With a rider that includes custom-built machines, controllers, and tools, Edwardteach blurs the line between traditional DJ sets and full live acts. This technical craftsmanship, combined with his deep underground roots, places him in a rare category of artists who challenge conventions and create truly unforgettable performances.

A recent highlight in his career is the release of his EP "Human Disorder" on Black Codes Experiments , the label of techno reference Cristian Varela . The EP has garnered support from key figures in the global techno scene, including Dubfire , Joseph Capriati , Paco Osuna , Dax J , Terence Fixmer , Ilario Alicante , Arnaud Le Texier , Takaaki Itoh , Ryuji Takeuchi , and Hioll , among others. This backing reinforces the impact of the release and its relevance in today’s scene.
Additionally, in his EP Draconians , he features a powerful remix by The YellowHeads , whose track has become a staple on the dancefloors of major festivals worldwide. His recent return to physical formats, releasing on vinyl and CD, has been met with critical acclaim, featuring standout collaborations with artists such as The Horrorist, Maxx Rossi, and Groove Daniel.
Beyond his artistic achievements, Edwardteach is involved in various media and music management projects that strengthen his connection to the global techno community. He is the founder and director of labels such as TheWarehouse Miami , 33Degrees Fahrenheit , and WaveGround , platforms that promote emerging talent and explore new sonic frontiers. Music has always been a real passion. Early Electro and Acid House lead me into the realms of the Rave Scene from 1988 - 1993 and the world of Pirate Radio Stations. From there I developed a love for anything Electronic: Deep House, Progressive House, Techno, Organic House, Melodic and Ambient.
 
As Eddie Amador said "Not everyone understands House music...it's spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing".
