Where do I even begin with this one....Lets get this shared far and wide

36 Tracks.... New edits mades specifically crafted just for this mix. New unrealeased material from Ali himself....

This mix literally moved me to tears it was so emotinal when Ali sent me this. I actually was sat in my car and had to just take a moment to composed myself because I had tears in my eyes at how good, how thought provocking this actually is.

Its so cleverly mixed, at some stages there are 4 or 5 different tracks going on. It is testament to the craft that this is actually feasibly possible. 

I am truly humbled at this mix. It sets the bar so high its what we all aspire to be able to do.
Ali Aitken is a Scottish DJ & Producer spanning Disco, House, Afro, Latin & Global sounds. Known for multi-format, hybrid sets with percussion, live looping and FX, his tracks have been released by Only Good Vibes Music, Natasha Kitty Katt’s Ghetto Disco Records and Chris Astrojazz’s Samedia Trax. He has received airplay on Radio 1 and had several Traxsource Hype Chart appearances.

Ali is resident DJ at The Alchemist (Edinburgh) and El Santo (Glasgow) and is one half of global music crew Karawane.

Over the past 18 months he has played at Kelburn Garden Party, Doune The Rabbit Hole, Knockengorroch, Woodzstock, Under Canvas and Belladrum Tartan Heart festivals plus gigs in London, York, North Wales, Barcelona, Berlin and Rhodes supporting Craig Charles, Utah Saints and Samedia Shebeen among others.

As Karawane he co-hosts Takeover parties across Scotland featuring international guest artists with regular nights at Kings (Dundee) and Eden Court (Inverness).

Odkąd pamięta muzyka stanowi ważny element jego życia. Już jako dziecko nie rozstawał się z magnetofonem. Jako nastolatek prowadził dyskoteki szkolne i te organizowane przez Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury. Punktem zwrotnym okazało się poznanie DJ KiD, który pozakał mu pracę dj'a od zaplecza. Zafascynowany tym światem postanowił iść dalej. Grał w wielu polskich ale także w kilku słowackich klubach, zdobywca wicemistrzostwa Podkarpacia. Uwielbia progressive i melodic house ale w swoich setach zawsze się bawi muzyką i stara się łączyć kilka jej gatunków (stąd "Bridge"). Lubi grać spokojnie ale także mocniej i bardziej energetycznie, o czym będziecie mogli przekonać się słuchając kolejnej części tego podcastu.

What and who is A Darker Wave?
We are a duo (jacki-e & p-mac) who present A Darker Wave every week only on NLive Radio, Circl8 Radio, Echo Radio & Chill Lover Radio. We put the show together in our home studio. The show is streamed worldwide on the internet. Each show is posted on our Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Hearthis.at, Podbean and You Tube pages once it has been streamed and presents the best in new techno releases.
We also play gigs as A Darker Wave and we have played at events in Germany and all over the UK.
The music we play is techno, tech house, deep house and anything else we like enough to include in the show.
Each show is 2 hours long. In the first hour we go into the mix with our featured EP of the week and the best of the new releases.
In the second hour we invite new and upcoming DJs to come onto the show and do a guest mix.

Why are you called A Darker Wave?
Dark Wave was first used in the 1980s to describe a dark and melancholy variant of new wave and post-punk music and was first applied to UK musicians such as Bauhaus, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Anne Clark. A lot of techno takes its spirit and ethos from this music, Listen to Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire and you can hear the industrial sounds which are a staple of techno music today.

Techno is the outsider of electronic dance music, the punk of today's modern music scene. As Dave Clarke said in an interview with Mixmag, " Techno is edgy. Techno will challenge you......it's the real dark art."

Not just a new wave, but with it's incessant bass rumblings, synthesiser drones, pounding drums, melodic top notes and eerie, distorted vocal samples, techno, in all its forms, is a backdrop to and a critique of our post-industrial, consumerist society, one in which our actions are observed 24/7, our democratic freedoms are threatened by our very own governments and our rights to do, think and act as we please are under ever increasing scrutiny. Techno really is A Darker Wave.

When we were listening to music in the 60’s and 70’s, before the electronic tentacles of technology infiltrated the world, we often thought, whilst listening to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Captain Beefhart, New York Dolls and Roxy Music, where would music go to in the future? It could never be what was being portrayed in the science fiction movies of the time. Now we know. It can be anything. When we have a recording studio in our own home which is more powerful and versatile than anything available back then, we now know music can be anything and go anywhere. It is only the spark of our imaginations, or lack of it, that holds us back. On our laptop computers we have the capabilities that many artists back then would have given their right arms for. It’s for the uniqueness of the artist to express themselves to be able to stand out from the deluge of music available. Finding those gems is the modern day equivalent of crate digging and when you do, it makes it all worthwhile. Long live music!!!!
